My precious baby girl, Annie

This photo of Annie was taken on her first evening with us on 22 May 2012 after I had gently placed her under the bath nozzle and washed the urine, faeces and vomit off her tiny body. I held Annie in my arms this evening, and many other days and nights, and I promised her that nothing bad was ever going to happen to her again, that I would love her and protect her forever. This photo shows what a brave and courageous little fighter she was. Despite the unspeakable trauma Annie suffered this day, she was brave enough to play with this toy. This photo clearly shows her worm-ridden, malnourished tiny body and her weak hind legs. My heart will always be broken for my baby girl, Annie. Some things just cannot be fixed.
