This is my Borzoi puppy girl Dori. She turned 9 months old the weekend of the Eukanuba Championship show in Long Beach, CA USA last Dec. There were 3 all breed shows the week before Eukanuba, we showed her and my red and white Borzoi girl Traveler at the 2nd and 3rd shows. We arrived in Long Beach on the day of the 1st show. Dori went Best Puppy both days she was shown but did nothing in the Puppy Hound Group either Day. Traveler was 2nd in Open Bitch and was Resere Winners Bitch on Thurs., 2nd in Open again on Fri. but not reserve. I have a 3rd Borzoi, a tri male we call Doc. He's black with tan and white markings. Sort of like a very tall Gordon but with white on his 4 feet, forechest and the last 6 inches of his tail is solid white. He's very handsome, just turned 18 months old and is about 31 inches tall at the shoulder. Just think, he's still growing too! As soon as I get some pictures taken of Doc, I'll post them to the website too. I have 1 Irish Setter named Garnett who is going on 6 years of age. She's their 'red wolf' and tolerates their silly antics very well indeed. I also take the Borzoi over to play with a friend's male Irish who is going on 11 now and she has 5 Scotties, 2 adults and 3 puppies. You'd be amazed at how gentle my giant Borzoi are with the Scotties. I fell in love with a friend's Borzoi about 10 years ago and she always told me I could have anything in her kennel that I wanted. When I moved across country, from CA to TX, she offered me a couple of Borzoi then. I didn't have room in my truck so I jokingly told her that when she had a red and white female puppy to show, call me. Well, darned if she didn't call me 3 months later! LOL!!!! That's how I ended up with Traveler, Dori was to be a loaner dog while Traveler is visiting her breeder for a few months to be shown and bred. I thought Dori was just temporary but my friend signed her over to me at the Eukanuba show weekend. I went to visit her in Feb. and to see my beloved Traveler, saw Doc and spen the next 10 days falling in love with him. I finally asked her what her plans were for him and she just shrugged her shoulders, said I'm not sure, why? Hehehehe, I said, well, I could take him to TX with me and show him out there. You'd always know where he is and you can have him back if you need him for stud services. She was surprised because as many years as we've known each other, I've always, always preferred having just female dogs. This is the first male I've actually bonded with and asked for. Doc came home with me of course and he is such a love, so sweet, loving and very very gentle. I no longer breed, don't want the work and hassle of raising puppies, much less having to deal with puppy buyers these days. So, she does the breeding, whelping and placing the puppies (they go all over the world) and I get to keep the ones I pick! Dori has 2 littermates in Hungary and one in Japan and they are just a year old today.

How lucky are you!!! I have only had One dog so far, and he was the sweetest thing on four legs, and I am hoping to keep a boy from my next litter, this should be my last, well perhaps!!! just getting too old.

Hmmm, I don't know what you'd call too old but I will be 67 the end of May this year. My oldest daughter just turned 48 early Feb.! I still manage to show my own dogs most of the time, and steward for judges at shows the rest of the time. I truly enjoy going to the shows and meeting people, visiting with friends, etc.
