How many Irish Setters do you have?: One - "Riley" Vabrill The Life of Riley Brightstar

About Me:: Debbie and I have owned setters since 1976 when we purchased our first Irish Setter - Erin, in Madison, WI. Erin was a large male, and perfect hiking, hiking, and skiing companion. He moved with us to California in 1981. In a moment of weakness we purchased a Springer in 1988, great dog, but immune system failed. In 1996 I visited Bright Star Setters in Petaluma, CA, and fell in love with the Gordons and Irish there. I purchased a 10 week old puppy, Gordie "Jerry Garcia's BrightStar", and trained a field trialed him for several years. In 2007 we adopted a second Gordon, "Mikey" Wilde Mountain Michael Brightstar, so we had "twin sons from different mothers." They both had great lives and ran their hearts out on the California hills and grew up with our children. In late 2008, our kids where home for Thanksgiving, they took Debbie and I aside and told us the house was too quiet, and took us back to Brightstar, where they had already made arrangements to see Wendy's newly born Irish Setter puppies. Of course, we were mesmerized, and committed to buy one of the males. After several visits, we picked "Lime Green Boy" who was big, attentive, and good natured. He is now 4 years, and the absolute smartest, calmest, and most obedient, verbal setter we have ever had. Riley "Vabrill The Life of Riley Brightstar."
