Eamonn's future in N.Z looks like it is going to be a wonderful one if the rest of your Reds and Pointer are anything to go by. He looks a cracking lad and I wish you all the best with him and to seeing plenty of photos. Pat

I, like Michelle, advocate exercising my boy's mind as much as I exercise his body - more so in fact. It would be like us going on a marathon and then sitting in our armchair the whole time afterwards without doing anything at all. Very boring. Si...

Hi Caroline, Just read your email and there is one thing that I find useful when our Setters are too exhuberant for our arms and that is to turn your rope slip lead into a figure 8. One loop of the figure 8 goes over the dog's neck as usual but th...

SILVER AWARD

Hi all,
Thought I'd let you know that Ray was awarded the Kennel Club's Good Citizen's SILVER Award today. As you can imagine, I am really chuffed with my boy. That makes 10 Certificates that he has been awarded to date for his gundog working and obedience achievements.
Now we start training for the Gold.

Setters & Pointers Training Day

It was a very friendly Group of Setter and Pointer Owners who gathered at Hamptworth Estate, Wiltshire over this last weekend.
This event was organised by the Hampshire Gundog Society with two Trainers, both whom are successful Field Trialist, namely Nicky Ackerley Kemp of the Yennadon Gordon Setters and Terry Harris of the Sparkfield Pointers.
The Society had even managed to get the weather to perform with sunshine from dawn to late afternoon. The venue is a very large Estate about 15 miles fro… Continue

Bronze Award

Yesterday my boy, Ray, passed his KC Good Citizen's Bronze Test which was held at Bath Championship Show. As you can imagine, I am really chuffed with him.
That makes six Certificates he has been awarded for his 'working' and 'obedience' to date.
This gives me the encouragement to try him for the Silver and then, later on, the Gold Tests.

Hi Pat, This is to send you a THANK YOU. Some months ago, you gave me some tips about how to make Gina stop in the middle of her runs. It works - it's hardwired!

Thank you:-)))) The problem with the camera is that I rarely manage both in critical moments. Certain moments its best to concentrate on the dog;-)

Hi Pat, I must share today's success with someone... and I know you will understand: Today Glen retrieved his first freshly shot pheasant! Wow, Good Dog:-))
Thanks,

Thanks for your comment, Pat. It really was an enjoyable day and as we still have a few more trials ahead of us I can hope for better trained birds next time;-))

Hi Pat
I am sorry I haven't been intouch for a while. I have been busy practising the exercises for the Gold inbetween showing Alfie.
I am pleased to say he has been doing very well with the Gold and I am extremely hopeful that he'll pass the award at the end of the month. Also at shows he has been doing well and I am so proud of him.
Hope you and Ray are ok?
Take care
Barbara
