Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Rooo Rooo,
I'd like to introduce myself. Annie is my name. I guess I'm named after a couple of Broadway shows and my creature's favorite childhood heroine was named Annie Oakley!

I was born in a beautiful Apple Orchard. It is very quiet there at night. My family was locked in a heated kennel at night because coyotes jump fences and are quite hurtful to other animals. I could see quail every day and even deer!

I just returned to a new home late last night. I was put in a jail...a..."crate". I didn't like it! I howled and barked, and wimpered for about 35 minutes when I was put in the crate! I was so hungry, they didn't feed me. I was beginning to panic and miss my 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Finally, one of my creatures put some dog biscuits through the crate wires so I could get some nourishment!

After a while the car stopped and I was put on a long rope, they called it a leash! I don't like it, I pulled away and sat in the snow! Ohh, THAT WAS COLD! I've never seen snow before. There were big trucks, big noisy trucks that hissed loudly. I guess the trucks were releasing their brake pressure. I wanted to get away from them!

One good thing, my creatures gave me liver treats whenever I went to the bathroom outside. They gave me 3 liver treats and said I was a good puppy! Wow! I really learned quickly, where the best place to relieve myself is! My lady creature read this book called "Before You Get Your Puppy" by Ian Dunbar. You know what he said? He said if I made a "mistake" in the house, my creature is to get a newspaper, roll it up and hit herself with it! Because it is HER fault if I make a mistake in the house! Wow! I think that IS great advice!

I went to visit my cousin, a Golden Retriever who lives in Kalispell. She growled at me when I chewed on a box and some Christmas presents. I was just a little scared. I met 2 teenagers. They're pretty nice.

My first night, I was place in a jail...a...er...."crate" and boy did I HOWL! I howled right from the start! My creature didn't want me waking up those teenagers so she put me on a new dog bed with a blanket and I was able to sleep by my new creatures! I woke up once and whimpered a little. My girl creature took me outside and of course, I knew what to do! Yes, 3 liver treats again. I just might have a good time with this new family!

We traveled again yesterday, I didn't howl in my jail...a..er "crate". I was fed a little more food, I didn't get sick but boy I was thirsty! I have lots of new toys, some treats are hidden inside some of them. I'm trying to chew some furniture and jump on a nice couch but I get corrected and put on my bed. My bed is nice but that couch looks really fun to jump on!

My creatures took lots of photos and want to post them but I was in a hurry to tell you all the news! Shucks, their house is a lot messier now that I've moved in!

Looking forward to hearing about other setters like me!

Happy Days,
Annie

Hello there Annie!
Just give it a bit of time and you will be jumping on that couch! Play your cards right, and you will also be sleeping in THEIR beds (much more comfortable than the one they have chosen for you!)
Hope to see some pictures of you soon!
