Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
I'm getting very excited about picking up my new puppy! I've been waiting for him since my younger boy passed away in May. I can't tell you how my heart skipped a beat when my friend/breeder Pat Jesson of Fleetwood Farms Irish Setters called me on September 19th (I even remember the exact day!) and gave me the jubilant news that her girl was indeed pregnant! Afer a few weeks more of waiting, Pat sent me the best email of my life! "Here he is!!!!" My beautiful new baby, one hour old. I had never seen a puppy that young, but boy was I ecstatic! I have since been perstering poor Pat every week for a progress photo.Only one more picture, Pat!!!! before I come to pick him up in Ohio. Well, I've written a few dog books, but never an Irish setter book, so I'm thinking now may be the time to turn all my thoughts of the last few months -- many of them bittersweet because I still miss my boy terribly -- into a book of sorts. I'll keep you all posted! In the meantime, it's 10 days and counting till Jonathan-Dylan (this is technically Dylan #5 -- but they all have two names) arrives. I hope he likes me ...
How lovely...a new puppy... oh how I wish......But I must be content with my four. Couldn't believe our 'baby' was 3 last Friday!!!! Make the most of all the time you have with your lovely new boy.
Thanks, Sue, I sure know that feeling. I have an old boy, 13, whose spine is really bad and it's getting harder and harder for him to walk, despite treatments. So, we enjoy each day.
So pleased for you to be sharing your life with a new baby. I also remember Wednesday June 20 2012 at 7.30 PM When I got the call to say Elsa had arrived into the world. The next 8 weeks seamed so long, but well worth the wait as she is a real joy to be owned by. Enjoy your baby X
