Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Finnish and Nordic Winner Shows 2009 will be held 12 & 13 December

As there has been lately many winner shows around the Europe, I'm proud to tell you that there is yet one to wait for...

The Finnish Kennel Club organizes once again one of the world's largest dog events on 12 & 13 December in Helsinki. During the weekend there will be two CACIB shows, Finnish Winner Show 2009 and Nordic Winner Show 2009. The huge entry is over 17.000 dogs from 19 countries.

More information: http://voittaja.kennelliitto.fi/EN/winner2009

I'm looking forward to participating on Saturday with four of my own dogs: Vicary's Yedidah at 10 years of age in the Veterans and Jonola Xtravagance at only 9 months in the Juniors, plus my co-owned and -loved ones GottaGo Sergeant Pepper and GottaGo Pepper-Up Potion in the intermediate class. I will be tightly sitting by the ring (keeping my fingers crossed that my baby will be born only AFTER the show!!) and let my trusted handler do all the running in the ring...

Looking forward to seeing all the beautiful dogs, specially the Irish setters!! And their owners too!

Yes, Camilla, it really is a shame that these two (or actually three) shows are held on the very same weekend. Cannot understand how that is possible....
I'm so excited and really looking forward to the show weekend. It's been already a couple of months since my last show...

See you there Johanna :) Very much looking forward to the event. Will be nice to see your young one and the "Peppers" as I haven't seen them since they were babies!
I'll visit the shows without dogs, only my dear Nikon is coming with me this time :)

Thanks Anu for posting the main results.
I was happy for the results of mine: GottaGo Sergeant Pepper "Väinö", first in his class (intermediate) and received a res-CC. Super dog from any angle, wrote the judge. Jedi was best of breed veteran and also got a marvellous critic; in super condition, a real credit to his owner for not looking at his age (or something like that). Saimi, Jonola Xtravagance got only Very Good this time, she just needs more time to develope. Helmi, GottaGo Pepper-Up Potion, second in her class, looking soooo lovely but unfortunately feeling this time a bit low. It was a fine day for us, a huge thank you to our great handler Greete, who did a marvellous job with all of them. And in the big ring thank you to Tiia for handling Jedi with style.

Kickie was taking pics. I did not take many with my own camera, they looked so dark...
I'm recovering... it was a hard day, with all the standing and walking in the show and driving. I seem to have lost my own ancles and got some elephant legs instead...........
