For Debbie - or the long Way to a Portrait ...

It is not always easy to take a portrait of our 'Lively Bundle of Fur' - here we are at a beach in Norway and Joy was in her explorer mood:

I was so busy, trying to get her to sit still for a moment - while she was busy, trying to dig through to Myra :-) - that I did not even notice, that my camera settings were still on 'sunny 16' or beautiful weather, from the day before:

Finally, Joy decided to cooperate, so that you can see how gorgeous our holidays were and I noticed my mistake - the sky would have been fine, but Joy and the foreground were too dark; underexposed:

So I corrected the settings - however: Without a special filter, the sky is now blurred out and I did not want to return to the car with Joy smiling so nicely:

There was nothing else, I could do but aim for a portrait and forget the background (the camera is set on manual f/11, 1/200, ISO 320); the brightness on Joy's smiling face is enhanced with the flash (if set on TTL, it does only add a minimum of light - works only in manual mode!):

The end result, you already know - it looks as if we had lovely weather and brilliant sunshine:

Ok - you may go play now :-)))
