Training on Grouse, 6 & 7 March 2010

I had long dreamed of taking Glen training on Grouse... this dream finally came true.

Glen and I took part in the Training Weekend for Pointing Breeds organised by the Kennel Club in the Yorkshire Dales. We had an unforgettable two days. I had originally hoped to get a few days training in prior to the event but the Grouse further North had suffered severely due to the harsh winter so no prior training was possible. But Glen took to Grouse as a fish to water;-) and was pointing steadily by the seond day. We'd go back for more anyday!

We ended our trip to GB with a short stay at Anlory and a visit to Crufts, where we came away with the Yellow Rosette from Special Working Class.

My Thanks to all who made this trip such a success!

Hi Susan, It was nice to meet you at last at Crufts.I am glad that Glen had some finds on Grouse after all your efforts both last year and again this year.It is good that he was also steady to the moorland sheep as they can also be quite a distraction especially if they decide to take off running . I think the Scottish spring trials are being held this week . It will be interesting to see how they find the birds now after such a severe winter!
