The trials have been great! Really interesting to watch, learnt a lot and met lots of nice people. The weather was reasonably good too, not too much wind on the first day, which was a bit of a shame but otherwise very good. There were quite a few Irish setters there too. Hope you'll have a really good trip to Peterborough and I wish you all the best of luck for both girls! Hope we can meet up again soon and I'll be looking forward to hearing all about the weekend :-)

Hi Dee
My little boy went yesterday, it was heartbreaking! I was getting so used to watching the two playing or fighting!!! Molly looked so lonely this morning even though she was sleeping with her mum. Taking her to puppy classes tonight, there aren't any ringcraft classes until September.
All the best, Deborah

No, I did not take a dog to the world-show. I was working flat out for all four days (and a week after as well). At the show I was selling and signing books + was circulating and taking notes + drawing for a three page spread in the kennelclub magazine.
So I think I saw about 15 minutes of setters.
But one of my breeding was entered and placed himself as 4th best dog out of 42 and got excellent.
So that was great!
Expecting some visitors from England today so there is the mad cleaning to be done. :-)

Just delighted to have an excuse to stop the cleaning for a few minutes Dee! The visitors are non-doggy people and so a house filled with three dogs and four cats needs some cleaning. In fact its very good having visitors staying a few nights...you end up having to clean the place properly, instead of just doing the surface.
the book-sales went very well indeed and there were tons of people at the stand most of the time.
So good luck with all your tents, babies and dogs!
Have a super weekend!

I'm writing this while my internet connection lasts!! It's still not quite back to normal yet. I ordered a new show lead and will show it to you next time if I'll have got it by then. Hopefully it'll be a bit better than the current one I have. Hope your two girls are enjoying their rest after the busy weekend!
Speak to you soon,
Nicole & Busby :-)

Quick update...daughter back from university but working full time at the animal hospital in Malmö. So far I have ended up with a cat (that was going to be put down) and a hen (that was found wandering the streets of Malmö?!). I hope that is it as far as stray animals is concerned...at least for a while!
Visitors have been and gone and all back to normal (including the hairs all over the place).
Horses all OK, one pregnant, one lent out as company, one beeing ridden now and then and one at grazing.
Hope the tent has dried up by now, ready to be used soon again!

Well, the internet connection has miraculously come back for no obvious reason - just hoping it'll stay like that! Will try out the new walk before the weekend so we can maybe do that next week if you like? It'll be along the river and maybe we can get them to swim after all!! Maybe should take the camera next time.

We're good, thanks for asking! Enjoying this lovely sun as we're on holiday this week, but its a little too hot for the girls. Took them down to the river last night to cool off - I thought they'd dive right in but they merely paddled around the edges. I might have to sign them up for swimming lessons. *edit* (How strange, after I posted this I then saw the video of Annie swimming - I didn't realise there were other setters out there who don't swim - including yours!)

Tilly is growing fast and is all legs it seems just now. I think there may be giraffe in that pedigree of hers!

How are thing with you, have you had a successful show season so far?

Linda

Well you never know - if it's really warm and they're hot they might dip in! I hope so anyway :-) Are you going to go to the Gundog show next month in Ingliston? I missed the entry deadline again! I'll need to get more organised with my show diary! Hope you're still up for a walk next week and speak to you soon, Nicole & Busby
