hi all ok this morning after another cold night. i sleep in the shed with them as i wont leave them to long without checking on them when up the house.i have always stayed with them for several nights then weaned myself of them as my bedroom window is open so i then listen to the noise and if there was a problem i would expect her to kind of yell.at least that has happened in the past and ive raced down an sorted things out. but our cassie was kinda diffenent as a mum and grandmum.she wanted roxees when she had hers, by time erin was ready great gran had died and she welcomed roxee.its funny how some dont mind others around but k sees them as a threat.she s no tbeen to bad with willow.she grumbled not growled to express they were hers and ive not left them together where when she had the others our cory was in the box with her it was amazing.you would have thought he was dad or something and he would stay when she left them she trusted noone else.

Hi Dee,
I've just seen that you're from Dunfermline! I've been wondering where all the Irish Setters have been hiding. I live in Edinburgh and haven't seen any so far!! I go to Blairhall for obedience training once a week and there are a few Gordons there but no Irish... Your two reds are beautiful...
Best regards,
Nicole

Hi Dee, I used to live in Edinburgh, then went to Switzerland, where we bought our Gordon Busby (of Flying Hunter kennel in Switzerland) and now we've been back here since last autumn. I live about ten minutes from the Forth Road bridge which is great for getting out of town and into nature quickly :-) Blairhall is near the A907 about 10 to 15 mins from Dunfermline. I didn't manage to get to the SKC but I do go to shows (we went to the Gordon setter club champ show in Alva a few weeks ago) and also do some field work. Congratulations on your excellent show results too :-) Maybe we'll meet at a show in Scotland sometime :-)

Hi Dee,
certainly you know the news from the past sunday at the SKC. I am over the moon with Ruby's results winning Res CC, and she will be 1 year old tomorrow! Pat wrote to me they were going to have a special birthday party with the dogs :-)))) Did you like her, anyway?? How did you feel at the show?
I'm glad you like Louie, and have chosen him to your Saffy, I'm looking forward to your litter and hope you let me know about the little ones often :-)) Our time is also getting closer and I'm getting excited now :-))
My best to you,
by for now, Marta

It's me again :-)
Sarah has just got out of season, that also means she is in changing coat, but this time she didn't loose so much of feathering as she used to and the new hair is coming along nicely now, but not shiny enough yet. In the summer months she will look good, I think. This season came 3 weeks earlier than ususal, so the next one will also be a bit earlier than I planned, I suppose the mating time could be at any time about from the middle of october to the end of november.
She is very well anyway, and in a very good condition, has been eating well for the last few months, that I am very happy for. She is going to be 3 years old in July, so everything seems to be perfect for the coming of the litter :-))
Love, Marta

im here again trying to keep having quick break from looking after the brood.keely is coming up the house now to eat , which gives her a chance to stretch her legs. Willow is bewildered by all these little things that move her eyes say it all. Grandma keeps trying to sneak a peek but k puts her nose out of joint. Im sure she believes erin would have them but i dont think thats her intention going on how she was when i got the pup that was ill up the house. She just being concerned liked all grandma s.
Bet you cant wait to have some have you studied a potential partner for her.

Hi Dee, yes, that's not very far away, indeed! :-) The photographs on my page are mainly from field training days in the Borders or further up north so they were "controlled" outings but there are some good walks around here in Edinburgh too where a setter can stretch his legs! I'm not too sure about whether they are allowed on the hills during the bird nesting season but I found Pitlochry has some beautiful walks too. Do you usually go to the beach near the bridge? Best regards, Nicole

Dee, I read on Pedro's site that you wanted IRWS - you should not give upt the wish. But getting good ones is so difficult, as the breed is still so small. Who did not let you have one? Silly people.....
We have red setters, too, but I can assure you the IRWS are something very special - even more than the IS.

I do not think that you are too old to start with a new breed. And the breed needs all the help it can get from people that take breeding seriously.
