This is very bad english - not mine - the translation was done by an online translation programm!! But from what I gather the Irish Setter Tico survived 7,5 hours swimming lost at sea, before he could be saved and was still in quite good condition - amazing dogs they are:

Last Wednesday September 14 José María and Amelia, the owners of Tico, a dog race setter irish, they removed to walk your pet to the beach, as they did regularly. Were the 1:00 pm and were becoming a few days of vacation in Denia (Alicante) in the area of Els Ploblets. But that day, without knowing why, Tico began to swim mar indoors and, despite the commitment of the masters of your rescue, there was no way possible. The dog, disoriented and bewildered, not waiting for call from their owners. After warn the Red Cross of Denia, this was beating the mar during 45 minutes without any result. Before leaving the hope to find it alive, the owners and neighbors were traveling along the beaches border by if the dog appeared for shore, but the miracle did not happen. When they had already given up for dead to Tico, reached a miraculous call. Were the 8:30 PM and the patrol "Segre River", of the maritime service provincial de Valencia, belonging to the Command of the Guardia Civil in Valencia, on their way to the port of Alicante, spotted and rescued him alive mooted at the port of Denia on the 9:00 PM. The crews of these patrol gave him water, as well as some vivere (freshly) that were on top and what calendaron. Diagnosis, with its 5 years of age, it was a 3 nautical miles from the coast (6 Km) and was swimming, without direction, during almost 7.5 hours. The dog is in perfect condition, despite the fact that the next day i had a terrible agujetas. Great heart of diagnosis, with a few going there horrible to cling to life.
