Chasing other dogs

Hi everyone,

My lovely Rufus, (2 year old Irish setter), likes to play with other dogs and chase them. Sometimes this causes the owners of the other dogs to become worried and Rufus does not respond to the whistle and stop this behaviour at the time. As a consequence I am keeping him on the lead most of the time at the moment. Is this a phase that most Setters experience or is this behaviour correctable? Please advise as I’m really worried about it,

Hi Anna,

My 6 month old Irish Setter tries to eitehr chase or be chased by EVERY dog she meets. She's always receiving warning nips but this never deters her. She really is the class clown when it comes to being around other dogs.
