Cushings Disease

This afternoon, my 12 year old irish bitch has been diagnosed wih Cushings Disease and treatment will start tommorrow with medication.  If anyone on ES has experience of this in an elderly irish  I would very much like to hear from you particularly with regard to how well the dog responded to treatment.

My wife and I suspect that Ellie is becoming Cushinoid.We had a setter with Cushings a few years ago and Ellie is showing similar symptoms but not as bad.I am taking her to the vets next week.

She has been on 'preds' for a long time,probably too long, and we have stopped them completely .She does seem improved since coming off them but it is too early to tell.

I will let you know what my vet says.
