I am new to the breed and I believe that my dog who is 14 months old and from fantastic lines may have entropion. Does anyone have any advice as to what to do? Is there a particular vet in Greater Dublin that specialises in this? Should I have noticed it when he was a puppy?

micheal have you already been to vets regarding your dogs eyes? and no if you are new to having red setters i dont think you will have noticed anything when he was a puppy
Hi Michael,
Your first call should be to the breeder who will be able to advise you.

Catherine
I agree with all three, Entropion is something that can start to show itself when the puppy is coming into adolescence Depending on the severity it can take a wee while to recognise it. Have you had a 'definite Diagnosis' from a vet??? you can have it operated on, and all they do is take as small piece from the bottom of the eye and then just sew the ''gap'' up and this will pull the offending lashes into the correct place, That is a simplified version of what happens.. I have to say that I have only had outside knowledge of this problem, I have been lucky enough not to have come across this in person. Were you thinking of showing your pet? All the best and good luck Dee and the gang
