English Setters

Am I the only one in the world who joined this group with the hope of meeting other English Setter owners on an Irish Setter website? There must be more of us crazies out there!!

I have a question: several breeders and people in my country (Austria) got in touch with US breeders and were interested of buying puppy bitches. All this because they want to expand the gene pool and add new blood lines. At first everyone was all yes and go for it and ok aso, and later they were finding all sorts of excuses and no puppy bitch. they could have had numerous dogs but no bitches. But we do have absolutely excellent dogs . grown up or puppy - no need to import. But as now many are related it would not hurt to get some new blood in - but nothing but excuses, or they got offered bitches or dogs absolutely unfit for breeding. I have seen several dogs that came over and I am sorry, but they make nice pets, but that is it - by no means will they be show dogs or fit for breeding.

Hello there! I am very surprised at low number of the ES breeders here. So charmig and gentle setter. As well as that, I think they´ve got the most noble head of the setters.Good luck to every one of them.

Thankyou for your kind comments, ereni. They are truly a very beautiful breed, both in looks & temperament. Just a pleasure to own.
