For over 20 years I have had Aussie finally got my first Irish in 2006, his name was Scout. I lost him two years later to SLE. He was such a special boy..My Aussies, Lady and Tiz really miss him.
We just added another Irish to our family this Month (2/17/09) a boy. We are calling him Hawk. Doing field work with Hawk, Scout he would of loved it. Hawk is everything I had hoped he would be.
Hawk's half sister Cara came to live with us (8/08/11) Hawk is so happy to have someone to play with
2 - 3 hours to get to work and back???????????
I suppose you deserve all the sunshine you can get for that!
I am fortunate to work at home, so no comuter problems...:-)
Hi Kathie and thanks for being a friend!
CA is a wonderful state, I loved the north especially - but that was over 10 years ago... never saw any setters though!
I think I already wrote this but I'm, tired sowhat the heck - your setter looks SO MUCH like Duke! (He has a brown nose and brown eyes, but otherwise that looks so much like him). I think your baby is smiling in that picture.

I am the father of Susan Stone who is already on your list ! Unhappily, I've only come in the week after my dear old Ginger had to be put down. The picture shows Ginger, 11 years old, last September on a train outing in my home Switzerland. I am an incorrigeable setter friend and have had them over 35 years.
Hi Kathie Jo,
I am delighted to accept your request to be your friend. Although I am clicking on the accept button, I get the feeling this is not working.
Kind regards

Hi there Kathie Jo, If you are quick you can get to S.K.C. it is on Sunday we will be there probably coming to earth with a bang and getting dumped, still that is how it goes you just smile through gritted teeth and congratulate the people who have won, well someone has to.
Its a shame your boy has a crooked tail, one of my puppies had that, according to a 'dog' book that is one of the most common of the congenital faults with the Irish Setter yours is only the second one that I have ever heard of, there is a lot more that goes wrong with them than just a crooked tail. I hope it doesn't cause him any problems!! Speak soon Dee and the girls
Hi Katie, who did you get your Irish Setter from? He looks like a very happy boy. I used to live not too far from Oakley in Stockton, CA. A long time ago, left there in 1980 and moved back to the San Jose area then moved to N. TX in March 2005.
Hi Kathie Jo,
I cannot believe you lost Scout so quickly....I am very sorry for your loss I have only just found out...I am thinking of you. I know how hard it is to lose such a wonderful companion at such a young age. Please keep in touch perhaps the time will come when you will want to have another setter by your side. Treasure the memories you have had with Scout.
Kindest regards
Catherine Carter
Hi Kathie Jo,
I was so sorry to read the news about Scout. We all know how bad it is to loose one of our frineds, but to loose one at such a young age and after a long fight must have been very hard.
Wishing you all the very best,
Susan
Dear Kathie Jo - wishing you and your doggy family all the best this Christmas and health and happiness for the year 2009.
I know Scout will be in your thoughts at this time, but you know he is happily running free.
