    Amicalement,

    Hello Catherine,
Hope you and yours are all well!
We actually refer to Shannon as 'Fuzzy Wuzzy wuz a bear...' a childhood song that stuck for over 40 years;-))

Thank you so much for that, this site has been a great comfort at this time, everyone is so kind, I got her back AGAIN, she was in again yesterday, but this time we have, I hope, got it sussed, it seems that her innards are not quite where they should be, it is rather worrying, but she seems, at the moment to be getting over it, operating on them is dangerous at the best of times, but when it is totally unnecessary, I think that makes it worse, but thank you again Dee and the girls
  • Dee Rance

    Hi there Catherine
Just wanted to say a VERY BELATED Happy new year, to you and yours. Will you be at Crufts? Maybe see you there although I will be at the other end of the rings to you..
Hope to see you there Dee and the girls
  • ursula wilby

    Hello Catherine!
It would be so sad if this site only catered for one side, its the world-wide mix and setter-owners with many different types of dogs/activities that make this site what it is! :-)
  • ursula wilby

    Thank you so much Catherine!
  • Phil Ledbetter

    Hi Catherine,
Thanks for the welcoming. I like your kids. Especially the one on the right in the September pic above! And I love the tons of chest hair on both.
  • ursula wilby

I used to live in the south of England (Epsom), so I know what a small admount of snow does...:-)
Strange enough, living in the south of Sweden, we have had no snow whatsoever this winter...so you are leading so far!

Yes, I liked that photo, it was so very much "irish"!
  • Henk ten Klooster

    Hello Catherine,

Yes I remember all those setters, good memories!

Tamarisk - just before this line became extinct here, there was sperm collected by a friend of Tamarisk Tarragon of Duskhunter, but it failed.

It was a sad scene - most of my friends active in those lines died young, one in a plane crash.

Some were good duals some not. So intrested what the training at your place will offer. Keep me informed!

Do me favor by e-mailing a few pedigrees to Info@Iersesetter.com Will appreciate that!

    Groeten-Henk.
  • ursula wilby

No I know that this time, its a fair lot of snow. The difference is that in a country like Sweden I drive around with studded winter-tyres from end november (no use whatsoever this year) and in England you drive on summer-tyres all the year round.
We are expecting nasty roads, you are not...also I am horrified with the number of cars in England. The motorways blocked even on a "good" day. I can imagine the total disaster!
Every time I am over I am amazed at the fact that I took my driving test in London...I doubt if I would last 30 minutes now!
    So yes, stay put!
The only sensible thing to do!
  • Monique VIRY

    Bonjour Catherine,
  • Kristina Brannlund Westin

    Hi Catherine!

Oh yes I did see on the news that you had a lot of snow, and the dogs love it. Up here in the north of Sweden we have 60 centimeters of snow and 15 degrees below zero. A perfect Februariday!
  • Laura Kolbach

hello, sent you a private message yesterday, did you receive it?
  • Laura Kolbach

yesyes! will write more in the evening!
  • Henk ten Klooster

    Hello Catherine,

Sounds you live in a setters hunting paradise in south England!!! I will probably need to go for a week to France this month training youngsters. Luckily with a very experienced dam, a thrill on point. She did all so rough shooting, falconry (waiting on) and trials three EC's.

Last time we were in south England was collecting a Sandgate youngster for friends, after I took H. Ashley from Matlock, their mothers were sisters. Loooooooong time ago and luckily a week before planned date because last was when the Herald of Free Enterprise sunk.

I'm interested in pedigrees of all your present dogs not present in the Lena Armgard database, if that isn't too much work.

There is a friend here big farm huge area with wild partridge who is still more or less mourning this type became extinct in the Netherlands! He has a ft bred one now from me eleven years but the preceding one 100% H/B line still calls "my very best"!!! That is one reason I am very interested...
  • Henk ten Klooster

Heyhi Catherine, strange that e-mail address Info@Iersesetter.com does not work for you, there is a lot arriving. Another one is Henkloos@wxs.nl When it arrives it will sure make interesting reading!!! Henk.

I am so sorry Catherine,. My Gordon had not only terrible HD but also suffered tumours like your beloved Billy. My first dog Athos died of cancer, as well.
I noticed you lost Anna a year ago.. SO MUCH sadness. I am thinking of you a lot. I do remeber your kind comments when my Gordon died.

Cairo is my friends dog. They are on holiday now. I ve got him only for one week
    Sweet tender baby.

LOTS of Love and BIG HUG

    - Do you think Catherine is angry on mum for still not replying on her post?

  • Dee Rance

Wow I love your set up. Mine have to go into the bath, they hate it, that would be so much easier, for them and me....I do hope that it helped you. I know that it gets messy, but it is all worth it in the end, I kind of feel that you take a lot out of their coats, (natural oil's etc) when we bath them so we need to put something back, and if you can get hold of the Avon, then just occasionally spray his 'willy feathers' with it, they won't get dry and brake off quite as much as they usually will. I spray Jas between the back legs with it every now and then, for the same reason. Can't wait to see him in a couple of weeks....
    Dee and the girls.
  • Dee Rance

I have a garage that one day I will turn into a grooming room, I wish I could have it now because the bath kills my back...and getting them in there is a battle. Jas hates being bathed, and fights me all the way, and she is no feather weight.
I am glad that some of the tips work. I don't have a dog at the moment so don't have to worry about when the girls are in season. Though if Saffy has puppies I hope to be keeping a dog so will have to start worrying about that kind of thing....
  • Charlotte Godart - Riverwood

    Bonsoir Catherine,
    Charlotte.

So sorry to hear that Billy has gone. My Bailey is Cataluna Son of a Gun, so they had a little in common after all.

    Night and God bless Billy.xxx

    Hi Catherine,
thanks for your comment on Glen:-)) I just wish I had the oportunities that seem to prevail in the UK for training... I'd love to do (even) more with Glen on the working side. I found that besides Peter's weeks the KC offer various training days. Pity there is not more interest from the breed clubs in organising training events (or maybe not enough interest from members)
Little boy Dillan lives with Manuela (also on this list) and is coming on nicely:-))
  • Laura Kolbach

hello, maybe i am blind but i can't see any chat button??? i know that there is one on the gordon ning and chats are visible to all but i can't find one here? where is it?
  • Laura Kolbach

Catherine, i really do not have that chat button :-))) very funny. refreshed the page several times but it just won't appear. maybe a good sign, otherwise this site will take even more of my time ;-)
today we have the carnival of the setter club, still thinking about my masquerade ;-)
  • Laura Kolbach

    costume i mean :)
  • Laura Kolbach

happy to announce that finally i found the chat function. seems to work for me, at least i see your message and annette's as well. i believe it is for chatting with more members at the same time, not with individuals. you can use the little arrow in the right corner of the chat window to make the window disappear. hope this helps. off to the fields now with the doggies, byeee and have a nice weekend. going to write more later on.
  • Susan Stone

Sorry Catherine, I've just been having a little giggle about your chat window that could not be closed - fancy chatting with Laura for 7 hours!!! I find 7 minutes hard going;o)))) (I'm sure she won't read this!)
No, seriously I've been experiencing problems too after my own website not showing my ES photographs I downloaded the 'Flash viewer' update at least 10 times and still can't get things to work... so frustrating isn't it!
Ning seems to be changing too much at once.
  • Susan Stone

I got in and out again with clicking either on arrows or on the green light beside the figure. But it sounds as if you may be blocked;-(( have you switched off and re-started?
  • Gene

Thanks for the update. Glad your daughter figured it out!
  • Dee Rance

Hi there Catherine, how is the preparation going??? I have just started to get the girls ready for Crufts. I am not sure if this time it is going to make any difference, Saffy in particular hasn't got much hair at the moment, but am going to Crufts so will bring her along...she looks like a miner puppy, not Post Graduate...Jas will I hope look good she is such a sweetie she deserves to win everything......
See you at Crufts, Dee and the girls
  • Laura Kolbach

great to hear! i just tried it with Camilla (Danka's breeder) and i find it disturbing that when i change the ning page (right now from my own page to yours), the chat i had with her until now just disappeared... oh well, good that there are other channels of communication as well :-)
  • Dee Rance

    Hi there Catherine,
Just got back from a 'new' walk so the girls have had a wonderful time. Just have to do the final trim on neck and feet, will bath on Friday morning, gives me all day to dry them, Saffy will not take any extras because she just doesn't have any hair to worry about...But Jas on the other hand is going to take a lot of work, as usual, but it is worth it when she is 'unveiled' just before going in the ring, as you say lets hope it doesn't rain, I too hate driving in the rain, but the time I go down it isn't so crowded, just a lot of lorries...Oh well less than a week now, EEEKKK will see you on Saturday, and yes.....the photo.....should be good though, if it can be organised, lucky it isn't me organising it, but I WILL get EVERYONE in it, if it kills me...
    Dee and the girls..
  • Laura Kolbach

yes, it sends me an invitation to join your chat :-) i have to accept it - but as i was out with the girls, i couldn't... let's stick to the private messages here on the real site, that works for sure.
