About Me:
Absolutely dedicated to the breed, along with English Setters.
Born in England, I moved to Australia as a child, and in my teens started importing Irish Setters from Wendover Kennels, and English Setters from Suntop Kennels. My latest Irish imports in 2004, 2009 and another in 2013 are all from the beautiful Copper's Kennel in Sweden.
I am a qualified Championship Judge for All Gundogs and the Non Sporting Group, and an Open Show Judge for all Toys, Terriers and Hounds.
My judging takes me all over the world, something I enjoy immensely.

Hello Myra, i am sorry to hear of the loss of your puppies. You must be very disappointed as a lot of planning ,hopes and dreams are involved.Who says dog breeding is easy ?? .There is also a lot of disappointments as well.Hopefully you will get something nice from Lupin in the future.
  • Melinda Auld

Thanks for the info on the book - it sounds like a very good read :) I'll certainly hunt down a copy...might try to get my hands on the dvd too.
  • Melinda Auld

I just hunted down a book on the internet - it comes with the dvd too :)

I was so sorry to read about Lupin. After all the anticipation and waiting to bring her out, and then to have that happen at the last minute...I can't imagine how awful it must be. Especially when you have one little one fighting for a few days, and you're there, hoping beside them that they'll pull through. I suppose it helps to know that the dogs get over it faster than we do. I'm sure it is a comfort to have Lupin at home with you now, safe and sound, and above all happy, healthy and readily exploring her new life in Australia. If only we could bottle some of that happy-go-lucky Irish attitude! It'd be nice to take a swig every now and then when times are hard, wouldn't it :)

I look forward to meeting Lupin soon.

    Melinda

Been imagining you slumped at your computer desk late into the night, bleary eyed, working your way through your 44 messages. Hope it went ok!!

Hi Myra, it has been so many years. Good to see you again, even though only in a couple of pics. Came to Chile in December 1988, been back once since then, and doubt very much I will ever be back, at least, not in the foreseeable future. Tell me how we can exchange e-mails in here so it doesn't become common knowledge (already spammers gettin in here looks like) and will be able to fill you in on my side of the last ....gawd....how many years is that? Lol, what a way to suddenly feel OLD.
  • Susan Stone

    Hi Myra,

Clancy is a joy to have, although he is such a naughty boy sometimes!

  • Gillian Kennedy-Sloane

Thankyou Myra for your welcome - still finding my way round the site so might be a while before I can contribute sensibly. Sure my mum would be pleased to know her name still crops up occassionally!! Some excellent pictures of yours.
  • Kasia Czapla

Thank you Myra. I was very very pleased to see my name next to Susan Stone as the top winners :) You know the feeling - you won last year :)
And the butterfly was my boyfriend running with a piece of dry tribe in his hand :) Always works good for my setters;)
  • Dee Rance

Thanks you for that, I have just 'missed' the call from Prof Bedford, and now can't get hold of him, it is so frustrating, instead of using my land line, he phoned on my mobile, which was up in my bedroom, by the time I got up there he had hung up, and no one could find him in the RVC... I could just scream, so maddening. Should have thought, my fault completely. Thanks for the 'back up'
How is Lupin doing. Just seen the pictures of her and Nome they do look really comfortable with each other I bet life is just one big game for them both...
All the best Dee and the girls

Hi Myra, thank you very much ! it's very nice from you to say hello. Your page is quite impressive for me, I cannot imagine 22 Irish Setters, it should be fantastic to see all of them at the same time.
Congratulation, the setters you seem to have are in the English type I prefer, and not in the American type and style.
Do you have an internet site ?
Sorry if my English is not so good.
    Cheers.
    JL

    All the best

  • Susan Stone

Pleased you like it, Myra! There are so many good ones (especially fom us ES members...) so I'm more than pleased. No chance of beating Frances' puppy pic next year though... so I'd say we needn't bother - the ISBC will wonder why there are so few adverts in 2009;o))
best wishes to your side of the world
    Susan
  • Nicole Wilson

Thank you Myra for you nice comment on my photo! Hope you are all well down under and that Lupin is excited about being in her new family :-)
I can imagine you are as happy about cooler autumn days as we over here are about the warmer spring days now...
All the best and greetings from Scotland,
    Nicole
  • Jenny Ronnebro

Hi Myra! Thank you for the comment about Siofra! The running Siofra is a fantastic photo! It was a great day with a great photographer. All the best Jenny
  • Lise-Lotte Persson

Thank you for your kind greetings to Tea!
Tea, of course, is the most beautiful I know, but best of all is her wonderful personality! We love each other so much! I am pleased that so many others think she is fine.
    Thank you:)))
  • ursula wilby

Ahhh the - about to turn 4 years in june - horse is actually too small for Alexandra. Or should I say what Alexandra wants to do with her...jumping. She is 1.58 at the shoulder and another 10 cm would have been great!
Still, she is a super horse and truly kind!
Can not have it all can you?
And will you have sketches in your books?
Myra...I would not dream of sending them off without! :-)
How is your swedish reading getting along?
  • ursula wilby

Well done Myra! Although I am not certain that any of those 3 words are actually in the books...may have to write a version for people with limited knowledge of the language...you know...every other word Ikea and Volvo! :-)
  • ursula wilby

    Sorry Myra...I am so THICK!!!!!!!!!

"Tall for 4"...meaning Alexandra and not the horse...sorry for being totally NOT there...I blame it on too much work taking up brainpower :-)
  • Danielle Williams

Thank you Myra, I'm glad you enjoyed looking at them. The ones of Molly were taken about 12 years ago by a guy studying photography at a nearby college and he actually gave me these at no cost! I lost Molly in aug 2000 and these are my fave photo's.

  • Danielle Williams

I do and have just had some recent ones taken of Tia and my other Irish Managh. I will put them on here shortly...

    Hi Myra
how are things down under? Hope Lupin is doing well. i have some relatives who live at Austalind i think, is that far from you?
    Kirsty
  • ursula wilby

All that remains now is the READING of them!
    Tons of love
    Ursula
  • Laura Kolbach

chose the same girl as you did ;-)
  • Laura Kolbach

oh yeah, unfortunately on 2 sides of the world... :-(((
i go for a walk in the fields now, coolish outside, almost raining - but perfect for the dogs. have a nice day, Myra!
  • Laura Kolbach

but we are watching you, wherever you are ;-)

  • Laura Kolbach

THANK YOU!!! that was a long time ago. the doggie magazine costs 395 HUF now, btw ;-)
off to the pointer club show now, me being logistics for the judge + friend, and then ring secretary, translater, etc. VIP :-)
have a nice weekend, my far-away friend!
  • Melinda Auld

Hehe just like Maia isn't spoilt...sitting squished into my lap like she is right at this moment (and believe me, it's getting to be a tight fit!). She usually has one leg fully stretched out, too, in the classic "Super Bitch" pose. All that is missing is the cape and "S" on her chest! A very impressive image...if only her tongue wasn't sticking out...
  • Jane Mugford

thanks Myra, I'm thrilled with him & such a happy boy.
  • Melinda Auld

They seem fascinated with kids especially, so I'm pretty confident they'll enjoy the new addition...though a certain little red-haired princess has issues with sharing mummy, so we shall see lol...
  • ursula wilby

As you can see...all went well. In spite of the diet...or due to it? Thanks for the thought!
And yes they are looking great!
