I am French and live in Great Britain. I have owned and exhibited Irish Setters since 1982. My affix with the Kennel Club is Anacardium and I have a small breeding kennel based on Hartsbourne/Brackenfield lines. I have now moved back to France in Burgundy.
Why are you applying for membership?
A. I am a human wanting to contribute to the community
trying to write my CV... looking for a new job... hate this one...
and then edit all the pics from the weekend, also of Danka. she was CACIB bitch on saturday, but i did not enter her on sunday.
Catherine...thank god I am too old for it, otherwise I would be having triplets I suppose.
Chicks due next week...we are getting into the swing of it now :-)
:-) I understood the type of "babies" you were refering to...but we have been rather busy over here as far as reproduction is concerned...so why stop? But I think that after the chickens, it will have to be enough.
For now at least!
Puppies are fine and getting fatter by the moment. Vilda is a super mother and is taking care of everything so that I have had time to spend with the foal as well.
Best thing about living here is the SPACE!!!!!!!
I have lived in England for quite some years (mainly in the south) and go over often. Nice to meet friends, but nice to get back home with neigbours within view, but no closer than that.
I know you can have this in England too, but it takes SERIOUS money.
Catherine, if you do come over here, you are more than welcome!:-)
And yes, if you dont have neighbours right next to you in England, you are certainly very lucky!
Or living in a remote place...
As for around London (where I normally go and used to live) I would never even find a parkingplace...makes me shudder when I think that I took my drivinglicence in London!
I would course a multiple pile-uo within minutes trying to drive in the thick of it now!
Hi Catherine, thanks for your message. maybe this is a family thing, Bailey is also by Chicago Bear. It's funny you should mention seeming to have lots of undercoat and not much top coat, that's exactly what Bailey has now too.
I have thought all along that it was just the aging process, and that's why I haven't done anything about it till now. The only driving force is, trying to make things better for him if it's at all possible. While the poor coat condition is the most obvious symptom, I've also noticed that he's become ravenously hungry all the time, he can't settle if there's so much as a baked bean left on a plate. Now he's always been enthusiastic about food, but this is something else.
Another thing is, I've been thinking that he's slowly going off his back end due to arthritis, but having given Metacam, Rimadyl and Predno-lyeucotropin all a good try, nothing helps his mobility, he's weak and wobbly. So maybe it is his thyroid......I don't know. I've made him sound a bit of a wreck, but in actual fact he still manages two short walks a day and makes the best out of life, he's very happy. He's such a honey.
Bonsoir Catherine,
Oui ça va mieux, ma voix n'est pas encore revenue complètement, mais ça va.
Et puis la 3 ème place m'a aidé à avoir moins mal ;-)
Merci de prendre de mes nouvelles.
J'espère vous voir à Windsor ?

PS: and a special hello from Odin to your Peter :-)
Hi Catherine,
How is your Kim doing and do you know now whether she is in whelp? It can't be that long now to the due date?
Hope you are also enjoying the nice weather.... it's so rare I couldn't believe when it kept getting warmer and warmer!
Hi Cathy, thanks for the welcome to the site,I,m sure there will be lots of hours of fun on it.Sorry that your bitch is not in whelp ,it happens sometimes but do try again as we need your breed lines preserved in the breed.
Best regards

hello, was not the meaning to send it 4 times, but i got the error message "not able to send". will continue, but had to send due to character limit :-)
sorry again...

Bj Caterine,

Hello Catherine.
I must admit i wasn't aware of the size of this problem previously. I was under impression they tried to implement this last year with the Irish judge but it failed for them, so this year they had to put their one judge to make sure they will send the message.
Hopefully the vast majority of FCI judges in France have enough common sense to refuse to judge under these directives if FCI sends clear message that this is not acceptable.
Wish you good luck with the fight for this cause.
Dusan
Hi there Catherine
I will put lots on if I ever find out how again, needed help with the two on the blog, thank goodness for Nicole, she was a big help, well couldn't have done it without her..
Will try my best
Speak soon Dee and the girls and thanks for the comment
Hi there Catherine
Didn't see your last comment must have crossed in the ethos. So pleased to see that the post op check-up was fine, it must have been a worrying time for you, I can only imagine how you are feeling, and on top of all of that, no puppies, I will keep everything crossed for the Autumn for you. If you have anyone that won't wait for a puppy, you know where to send them...will try and take lots of pictures, unfortunately she has stopped eating now...
Speak soon Dee and the girls
Catherine I so enjoyed all your pictures. When I get my camera back from repair I hope to get some update pictures of Jillian and set up photos of the dogs I have had over the years. I will have to scan the pictures in my computer first. Jo Ann
Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your nice comment on Busby's stand photo. We're still practising.... ;-) It would be great to meet you again at a show this summer. Do you ever come up to Scotland for shows? Our next one here is the SKC in the end of August, I think.
Take care and enjoy the sunny weather :-)
Nicole
Hi Catherine!
I wish you the best in the show. I look forward to hearing how you did. I will be rooting for you in spirit. It would be fun to see a dog show in England. Boy you are having a really how spell. When my family visit England it was almost darn right cold! It was late May and early June. We had a wonderful time. My Dad was brave enough to drive! My mom was a nervous Wreck! We stayed a fun Bread and Breakfast just out of Romsey.( Spelling?) I still hear from the lady. And she and he husband came and stay with us. So fun. That was in the 80's. Today is the 4th of July and I am going to a picnic on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. Hope your daughter gets to come back and finish her masters . Take care . Jo Ann
That is a small work. The family name is Tanner and a son now lives in the house. They called it home Field( think) It was out of town a bit and I they had a cow two donkeys and lots of cats all to my delight. I got to help with getting a new born calf into the barn as it was pour down rain. And my family named the calf. It was letter k and it had to be a flower so we suggest kisskick which is a wild flower that grows all over in our yard here. The name stuck! You live in a lovely area. If you ever decide to come San Francisco know you have a place to stay. I am 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Jo Ann
Thanks Cathy. The puppy is 11 weeks old now so first show could be N.E. of England in October - we,ll see nearer the time.He is out of Concept and my Flynns sister owned by Theresa Gisby.
Catherine, thank you very much for wishing me a happy birthday. Very nice of you. ;)) I had great day among my loved ones, there was no time for Internet.
I hope you had nice time showing your beautiful dogs.
Hi there Catherine, thanks for the comment on the birthday blog..I really hoped that she would have them yesterday, I do hope that she doesn't hang on until Saturday, I have got my Granddaughters for the whole day and night, puppy in one hand child having a tantrum in the other, HELP....;o)))
