How long have you owned Irish Setters?
20 years
About Me:
Have moved around the world a lot., Norway, Canada..where I concentrated on showing Arab horses...discovered setters and the horses took to each other very well.....took all my lovely setters to France for 7 years...now back in U.K., (Suffolk) with Abbi (2 years old) and new baby girl..Lola ... just adore setters..nothing compares as far as I'm concerned...Never happier than when walking in the forest with my girls (and hubby, of course) ..passionate about gardening also , which can pose a problem!!
Hi there thanks for the message, I do hope that the snow isn't too bad where you live, we aren't having any here, well not enough to speak of, it's usually us here in Scotland that have most of the snow, I wish my dogs could have fun in the snow, but it is just mud here....Speak soon, Do you show or do anything with your dog, or is it just a pet, that seems a silly question because mine are first and foremost pets, but I think you will know what I mean.
Dee and the girls
Hi Sammi, Your Abbi looks lovely. Welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here very much. I have 2 Setters, one Irish and one English. Both were baby puppies together and are now almost 7. Just a joy.
Lynn, Tess (Irish) and Megg (English) from Australia.
Hello Sammi nice to be your freind. Your girl looks so lovely !
I can not imagine me life without my setter´s. Welcome to this site,It is easy to be stuck here for hours./ Greetings from Sweden,Katarina
Nice to be your friend. See that we have the same passions besides setters, Gardening. You can just imagine how it usually are here in summertime. 6 happy setters and my dear flowers,
can be frustrating sometime but it works.
Hi Sammi
thank you very much for your kind words, and thank you for addet me as friend.
Yes, we are absolutly happy to life in Engadin! But a the moment, very cold. to day morning it was the coldest night this yoear: -29.3 gread. But boys have fun :-))
All the best, Esther
Hi Sammi,
Thanks for your comments on my page.
I had seen photo of Abbi, I had to think that she could be a JONOLA.
She looks like a sister of Girly.

Best regards, Charlotte & the girls.
Hi Sammi, thanks for the comment.Abbi looks beautiful! Think she might be litter sister to my River, who I love to bits. If she is anything like him, she will be as affectionate as an irish can get, and a dream to be in your life! Big sister Ellie is just the same, they both just smother you with love!!!
Are you going to Crufts to see the irish in action? If so will see you there where you can meet Ellie and have a drink with us!!! Elaine
Hi Sammi, have you managed to wriggle your way out of the family gathering yet??? Post your photos of your new pup as soon as you get it! Are you getting a dog or a bitch? You can't go wrong with the Jonolas!!
Thank you Sammi, your photo's are lovely (love the one in the snow), Abbi looks a gorgeous wee girl (and the cat looks cute too!) How do you manage a garden with dogs? Mine looks like Beirut! The pups dig faster than a JCB! Hope Abbi has a new playmate soon, might distract her from the garden! Take care
Hope the family gathering goes well, when are you getting your new girl? That'll be when the fun starts again! Have you thought of any names for her yet, and more importantly, does Abbi know yet! Post the photo's when you get her, would be nice to see her!
Thank you for the congratulations for Crufts, it was wonderful for her to do so well, she is such a sweet person, I am going to try and put some pictures that Nicole has sent me on my site when I can work it out...as for the other thing...I have been asked to put a Forum up but don't know how, will have to think about it, I am of the opinion that these things should be disgust. Thanks again for the support

Hello Sammi, do you know when your new addition is coming home? Must be really exciting for you! Still I wish I knew your tips to getting the dogs "garden trained" as Abbi is way younger than my littlest boy, and the still don't know how to behave, despite a good run in the forest daily!! Is it a dog or a bitch you are getting? I bet Abbi wont be to pleased that she wont be soul centre of attention! Look forward to seeing photos of your wee baby when you get them!
Take care, Bev & the pups x
Hi Sammi, thanks for your comments! Yes I think they enjoy themselves, but so do I. And not being a keen gardener I have nothing to worry about;-))
Sounds like you've lead a fsacinating ilfe! What brought you back to the UK?
Good luck with your future addition...
Susan
Hei Sammi :)
I am so glad that you liked it in Bergen, as you might know the people from Bergen are very proud of their city, and I am not an exeption :)
So what did you do when you were here? Studying?
It's nice to see that your cat and dog get along so well, I don't think our Skadi would have been so calm next to a cat! She points at them...
Hi Sammi - nice to hear from another jonola family! We're very excited about our new arrival too - hope to collect him at the start of May when I've got a few weeks off to get him settled in. The pic of abbi and the cat is so sweet - dougal's mortal enemy is the cat that lives behind us (although he always waits until it leaves the garden before he goes out to bark at it). Look forward to seeing pics of your new puppy.
Good morning Sammi ! thank you for you nice message ... It was great to see last week-end, the time is going so fast, already one week we came to pick our Lucky Boy ! Your Lola she is also very cute and resembles so much to his brother. Lucky is interested in everything, and all our pet (included the cat) have accepted Lucky so friendly. Good luck to you too ! I will try to add some more photos this week-end. JL
Hi Sammi, nice to see new pictures of your girls!!!i think they like each other.!!!Realy sweet facese and good friends on pict...I love Jonolas dogs very much!!!
Marina.
Hi Sammi - have posted a couple of pics of Reggie on my page. He's so full of fun, and very cute. Dougal is getting a bit of a rough time though - his beautiful feathers are just too tempting for a puppy! In spite of that, he seems to be enjoying having a young one to play with....and steal food from! Hope Lola is settling in well :-)
Thank you for your lovely comment on the blog. Time will tell as to the number and quality etc, but with the two of them it should be lovely..
Dee and the girls
Sounds SOOOO familiar... :D One should always take xtra good care of his/her food when Saimi is around... She has not been really keen on what's in her own bowl, but more interested in what other's are eating. What they say again about the grass on the other side of the fence...?? But she's been eating much better now and doesn't look so skinny anymore eventhough most of the energy goes to her legs right now. She seems to grow the legs of her namesake Saimi Nousiainen, a former top-model in Finland... :D
Hi Sammi
thanks for your nice comment. We had perfect holidays. I always go to a place for holiday, where I can taken the boys with me. And travelling with Setter isn't troublesome, isn't it?
Have a good time and regards, Esther
Thank you Sammi - Georgie is fab and I love her to bits. Just looking at your girls they look so pretty - I think Jonola dogs are very nice indeed. Do you show them?
Maggie
Hi Sammi
Georgie is a reluctant show girl - so we don't push our luck with her. If only she moved in the ring the same way she does in the garden - especially when she has her favourite rubber chicken in her mouth! We go to a local show Heckington at the weekend and then the National Gundog on 1st August,
I see you lived in Norway - a place were we have done lots of skiing, We would love to take the dogs there they would love it. Was it a good place to live?
Maggie
Thank you Sammi for your kind comment and birthday wishes for my SarahI Also glad youl like the pups.
Could eat her Lola, love her on the photos! I always liked her mom a lot, you know. Looking forward to see the way she is growing up - long but enjoyable time it will be for you, surely.

Hi Sammi, thank you very much for your quick answer ! Well, in that case, I hope to see soon Mel's new website. Lucky chews sometimes on our little King Charles, but I'm a little bit amazed to see how much he can sleep, he is always very tired and calm, or is he just very lazy ? How is Lola ?
Please do not hesitate to come to visit us next time you are here around ... Will you take with you Lola ? it would be great to see her too.
