About Me:: Since several years Irish Setters have been part of my life. The love and complicity that we share has been transformed into a true passion.

First Chickadee makes her entry into my life, she was supposed to be a dog, but destiny decided otherwise, and it was not such a bad thing after all, pure joy of which I didn't quite realise the enormity. With her came the discovery of the dog world: shows, obedience and even hunting. The show virus was quickly acquired as at her first show Chickadee was best puppy in show. Enough to say that I didn't have to be pushed into becoming passionately addicted. I have enjoyed some great moments at the shows with Chickadee. In 2006, she was Europasiegerin at Dortmund, consecreted best bitch in Belgium by the Belgian Irish Setter club and third best bitch in Holland. Beginning of 2007 she became German Champion.

The 4th April she had her first pups in the kennel where she was born and one of her daughters Girly Girl came to live with us. Girly don't needs to prove her worth in the show ring. She is not only already a German Champion but also Belgian Junior Winner 08, Dutch Junior champion and in 2008 she won Best in Show at the Junior Day of the Belgian Irish Setter Club at just 17months with an entry of some 80 junior Irish. Lately at Bath at only 25 months show in England she wins her entry into the English Kennel Club Studbook and a life qualification for Crufts, a great achievement which can only make me even more proud of choosing Girly.

26.05.2010 My dream come true, my first litter and the 2nd for Chickadee ! She give birth to 12 puppies (10 boys & 2 girls). From this litter a boy stayed with us, he is named "Scott" Riverwood Jungle Rock" He is the son of Multi & Int Sh Ch Sametsuz Sunset. He has already did a great impression on show by winning a lovely 3th best baby in show and 5th best baby in show . . . he just grow up like I want, the future will tell us if I have reason to believe in him ! ! ! Way to go Scott . . .

Hi there Charlotte, ''ready''.....unfortunately no...It has just been one thing after another, first on the 13th Friday, I fell over taking the girls for a walk, fortunately Nicole was with me, ended up in A&E having ex-ray's of my foot and hand, nothing broken,;o)) but still can't walk properly, then the other day my car started to die on me, cost a small fortune, I think I need a new car, but it is now fixed so will be on my way next Friday, so hope to see you there, it should be a great day, I think someone else...said that they were glad that Girly wasn't in there class, and I agree, good luck to you both, Lyn Dale likes a good sound dog, and she will do her own thing, see you there I hope Dee and the girls

I cant wait to see her in the flesh, I started my preparations today. Saffy is just starting to get some coat back, it is only about an inch all over. But she is fit, (fit for what I am not sure....) Jas on the other hand is in really good coat, and it has come through such a lovely colour, she is just gleaming, and at here age that is good she needs all the good luck she can get...I think that she needs a first, but then I am a wee bit prejudice...Did you get my number??? what is yours??

Well she is a very beautiful girl. I hope all went well on your way home, it must have taken you a long while, I hope that the weather was better for you, on your way home than it was for us...we had the journey from hell, lightening, hail stones and dreadful winds, I thought that the hail was going to break the windscreen on the car, we couldn't do any more than 30mph on the motorway very scary...speak soon Dee and the girls ps love your new main picture

Hello Charlotte, I really enjoyed your 2 videos,it is lovely to see the Irish having fun. I was impressed with the purpose your Girls showed in the first video when each of them stopped on game and then flushed it.In England they should drop flat down after this.The swallows lead the irish a merry dance.My working dog Derry loves to chase them and i think the swallows like it too, as they swoop down and encourage the dogs to chase them.Anyway it gives the dogs a good work out just chasing them,however this only happens in the meadows where i exercise them.I would not be happy if they did that when i was working them on a moor where there are real game birds.Derry has chased grouse too so i have had extra work teaching him not to.Do you run Girly in any field trials? Your Girly is a very special Girl having beauty, brains and hunting instinct.What more could you want????

Thanks for the comment on the video! Timmy is only 2, and has only been at 2 shows this year, so we were very pleased with how he performed in the ring!! I've been neglecting ES lately, as we had alot of non-doggie things going on, so I'll be busy later trying to 'catch-up' and see all the photos and blogs that I've missed!! Nice to hear from you again, we lost the smallest boy at two days but all the rest of the 14 are doing really well, Saffy doesn't really want to go in with them at the moment, can't say that I blame her.
