About Me:
I've owned Irish Setters since 1970 and shown them since 1972. My kennel name is Coppersheen. I worked as a journalist for 25 years and now freelance. My other interests include all kinds of music and genealogy. I review classical music, opera and ballet for a daily paper in Southampton. My love of music has influenced the names of dogs I have bred. Got married in 2010 to Robert Clifford, with whom I now share the Coppersheen kennel name.

So nice to meet up again - albeit in the world wide space...
I still love that photo of Kargray Charity - grandmother of our very first Copper born in 1975.
Have you seen the 'newest' Coppersheens? my D-litter bron in April - not high class musicians, more like little devils...

Thank you so much Sue! Your comment made me very glad! Most of the dogs belongs to Kennel Discovery, which I´m proud of beeing a part of. Speak soon! Ps: I also have a husband who is not so fond of dogsshows!!!
  • Susan Stone

    Hi Sue,
good to hear from you, hope all goes as planned! There are not many litters of Irish bred in Switzerland so there tends to be quite high demand - which at least gives you a choice of potential owners. But even then it is never easy...
what is all this about husbands...? Does ANYONE have a husband who enjoys dogshows??? let's start an auction:-))
    all the best,
    Susan

Hi Sharon, Thanks for the welcome. Christchurch in the UK is a small coastal town with a magnificent priory church. Nothing like as grand as your Christchurch! Thanks for your comments. I thought it was time I added some pictures! Sue

Mother’s Thendara Joy Ride (also brother of Thendadra Don Corleone) and is Father's Laumidorn Innuendo. Grand Father’s Thendara Kennedy.

    Hi there Sue.
Well it seems that we have gone along parallel lines, I have now got another Mad Irish that is by ShChShenanagin Some Might Say Its Bardonhill JW, and my first girl like you, not shown much at Ch level, was Raycroft/Wendover/Brackenfield lines, she did really well at open shows many BOB's and a couple of Best Gundogs a nice start but now........well you can't ask for any more, perhaps the UK title, but Jas has done me proud, and yes we are in Veteran at Crufts this year, and yes how time flies.....Unfortunately I lost all my lines in the 80's with bloat, so went into Akita's of all things, but couldn't leave my first love IRS, Sorry about not remembering that you stood next to me at Crufts, Hey I am an OAP now so the memory isn't what it used to be, well it never was any good anyway..
Do come and see me at my bench at Crufts, we will be having some wine etc, and I hope more people from the site will be there as well..
All the best Dee and the girls

Thanks for your comment, Sue. I know the problem of sorting out the 'stay-at-home' dogs... I had three to see to, as only Glen joined me. Ended up paying more for boarding them than for the course!
I saw all Nigel's youngsters and I must say they are of a wonderful sound type and all so very much alike, you could hardly tell three bitches from various litters apart! And as for movement, well I don't think you see that kind of movement much in the ring nowadays...
    take care,
    Susan
