I have Setter since 2003 and since september 2007 I have Irish's
About Me:
My first setter is my English Setter Sancho - I got him from an animal shelter in 2003 at the age of approximately 2,5 years. He cames from a big animal shelter in Romania. I trained him to became a proved gundog. In autumn of 2007 I got my first Irish Red Setter as a puppy - Lohmanns Ortrun called 'Chili'. At least Lohmanns Milan - an Irish Setter boy - cames to us with an age of 2,5 years. Last year Cindy vom Kapellenpfad joined at Working Gundogs. My passion is to work together with setters on hunting.
I look on hunting setters with great pleasure! Especially when it is so young setter! Congratulations Michaela!
Welcome on this site :)
Greetings from Poland!

Liebe Michaela,
Dear Michaela,
Thanks for commenting our latest blood trace result! Have you also seen my last videos?
I wish you good work with your Chili girl! And who is Milan?
Absolutely stunning photography, Michaela.
The dogs are working so well - you should be very proud of your training and their achievements.
Thankyou for allowing us to be part of your world.
Dear Michaela,
thanks for your comment. no, it was not taken on a duck hunting unfortunately, but we were asked to imitate a whole "hunting permission exam" for dogs, because they wanted to film it.
I know the meaning of waidmannsheil, it was explained to me by Christiane, although I heard it several times from Nothern Italian hunters here in Hungary who I was worked with for years.
I saw the photos of Milan when you were making the HZP (I think) -there was the link on the Lohmann's aktuelles page. Very good photos, but unfortunetely didn't understand a word from the text.
Waidmannsheil to you for the duck hunting, we are planning to go on pheasants this weekend.
Bye, Petra
Dear Michaela,
Thank you, your answers in English fulfilled completely my curiousity - I don't know what your problem is:).
We have 3 types of these tests - autumn breeding test (no age limit with duck trace on water) - water and field test (same duties no duck trace, but water retrieve, no age limit) - basic test (for young dogs, only to check their instincts (retieve on field and water, short trace on field, search and point).
Dear Micheala,
I don't think there is any need that you are asking me sorry! I don't even understand why you did it! It would have been a pleasure for me if you put your newest blog post here because I've mentioned to have seen your autumn test pictures on your own page, but I'm afraid it was your own idea:)!
I hope there aren't any bad feelings or worries from your side!!!!!!
:))))))
Please confirm me to have read and understand this messagge, I hate misunderstanding with kind people!
Dear Michaela,
Thanks for your reply. I reread my sentence and you are right, it was not completely clear! Neither my English is perfect, but the important is that finally we understood each other:)
Have a nice weekend with your dogs!
Bye, Petra
Waidmannsdank Michaela! Bin wirklich stolz auf den 'Kleinen', er übertrifft jegliche Erwartungen, aber ein Allrounder wie Chili ist er nicht... bin gespannt, was wir da noch hören werden:-)))
Hello,
I'd like also to meet you but Nowa Ruda is a bit too far from us. But we will keep our fingers crossed! I will not tell you 'don't worry' because I'm always nervous before shows, already from about 10 years. But there is a great advantage of having dogs with such coat as our dogs have. We don't have to spend hours with brushes, combs, hairdryers, conditioners, hairsprays etc. Good luck!
Hi, here you will find the plan of judging in Nowa Ruda: http://www.psywalbrzych.republika.pl/plan%20sedziowania.pdf
Chili wasn't entered to working class?
I am most of all hunter!!
As you can see on my side I hunt both in the south of Sweden and high up nort in Sweden
My wife and I have 6 dogs.
3 Irish setters and 3 English setters
5 of the dogs are competeing in winnerclass(highest class)
3 of them are Champions
One of the dogs have 1 Cert left to get his Championtitle
Hi Michaela. It was the pleasure for me to meet you, too. My English is also not good, but we can understand each other and that is important. Yesterday evening I tried to develop my pictures from Nowa Ruda, but something didn’t work good in my Photoshop Lightroom. So I put all the pictures on Picassa website without any selection, only compressed. You can see all what I shoot and you can load what you want. On the show we received CWC (CAC) and the best dog in breed. I am impressed because of your dogs. The real dogs for hunting and they are nice too. I think they can compete in field with pointers. We are training with Palisander in field, but we are hunting only for shooting photos. Write me if you have some problems with loading photos.
Greetings from Ewa
Hi Michaela,
Yes we where first on field trials. But they were really field tests which we have to pass as a hunting dogs in Poland.
Because we are not hunting, we were on one training with Mr. Molinari in May (he is one of the best trainers in Europe). We are now training for the next year. We will have field trials in Busko in April. I hope we will do, because you are right Palisander has very good genes for hunting and we can observe it each day. We don’t have experience in training and Palisander is only one. You always have to start.
Dear Michaela,
first time is always the most difficult, especially on hall shows. There are always too much noise and too less place. My first show was also in hall, I was training with Fokker several months before the show but he presented something like ritual dance of primitive tribes. Now I'm trying to avoid hall shows. I'm glad you met Palisander's family! Palisander is a very special dog for me, we choose his father because of good hunting skills and exterier but it was a close shave, the mating would be impossible! Breza came in season earlier then we expected and our friend who was going to take us to Munchen, wasn't in Poland then. We hadn't a car that time and I was calling to all friends asking if they would like to have a 1000 km trip with me and Breza. And I found one man who didn't asked: 'are you crazy?!' but: 'when exactly you have to go?'. Resulted he had two days free in the right Breza's time and we made 1000 km one day and 1000 km back the next day. It was the most express mating Breza has ever had, but fortunately succesful. Of course any hunter was interested in buying IS, so I'm very greateful for Palisander's owners they are trying to make good use of his genes!
Hi, Michaela!
I think you are big specialist in training setters. On yours photos I see that you have a good contact with your dog. So maybe you can help me, because Palisander is not interested in retrieving. Our first dog liked it and we had no problem. Palisander when he wants to play, than he is retrieving, but if not, he doesn’t. The same in water , he catch object and leave it in water. What can I do?
As you know Renata has a baby and 3 dogs, so for her now, I think is difficult to work with others dogs.
I am now ordering an electronic collar because Palisander doesn’t respect deers. We have a lot of work to do till April.
It’s nice to read what Renata wrote below.
Greetings from Ewa and Palisander
Thanks Michaela, for your immediately answer. Watching yours pictures I can see that you became an expert, because you need working dogs. At least for me, but I think not only. Jonas doesn’t want to take a dummy in his mouth. But I will try again with something else. I think about pheasant’s pinions I bought once.
I agree with you , I leave far away, I thought about the same.
Dear Micheala,
Thanks for your answer and congrats on your result. Next time, please leave me your answer on my page, so I can receive a notification by email immediately:)
What was the not satisfying result of Milan?
I hope you are not frustrated because of it, it doesn't worth!
Hallo Michaela,
Don’t worry . I understand. We are before Xmas and New Year , and it’s the same with me, I have no time. We are waiting for the collar from France, than we will restart training. Without is very difficult. I hope to receive it soon, during Xmas days.
Hope to hearing from you soon.
Ewa

Hi Michaela, thanks for your comment! Greetings from Fokka for Chili. I didn't show Fokka your wonderful photos from duck hunting. She is in season now and no hunting, no training, no long walks. My husband went for hunting yesterday and told her: 'you must stay, I don't want to have small foxes here!'. So she is quite depressed now.
Hallo Michaela
vielen Dank für den Link. Sehr interessantes Video.
Waidmanns Heil !

Thank you! Yes, our website definitely needs updating...But still more things to do are waiting and Janka's sister is going to arrive next month so we are quite busy now. Greetings for you and your reds, especially Chilli. Fokka would like to have so exciting life too...
I wish you all the best for Janka's sister's birth!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed!
I'm sure Fokka has the best life she could ever have .. and I'm sure Janka and her sister will be the best sparring & playing partners for her - always bringing a lot of action in your life ;-))
