I am French and live in Great Britain. I have owned and exhibited Irish Setters since 1982. My affix with the Kennel Club is Anacardium and I have a small breeding kennel based on Hartsbourne/Brackenfield lines. I have now moved back to France in Burgundy.
Why are you applying for membership?
A. I am a human wanting to contribute to the community
Hi there Catherine
It must have been nice seeing your mum for your Birthday. 21 again???
(I nearly always have family around on my birthday. Mine is at Christmas...not long now unfortunately).
Findlay is doing really well, growing nicely, such a sweet boy...Only time will tell if he makes a good show dog. Doesn't really matter if he does or he doesn't. I will love him all the same. Will be bringing him out in February.. See everyone then...All the best Dee and the gang
I sometimes feel like giving the pups names that will suit their behaviour later on... just to show they are not going to be sweet little angels... for the Ds I considered names like the 'Disappearing Devil' or 'Dont-you-dare' or 'Desperation' but finally decided against them - puppy buyers may not be too keen...;-)
Hello Hello Catherine, we are very busy now: biting, jumping, running, eating, weeing, sleeping...shouting:O)
No time for other serious things.
She is a great puppy and I am getting tired and sleepy. But I am very happy.
How are you?
Thank you for birthday wishes, Catherine! Glad we have our birthday on the same day, funny isn't it. We celebrated just yesterday, and it was fun. I am a bit late as mostly, but let me wish you much happiness and long healthy years together with your dogs and families on your birthday.
All the best,
Marta and the rest
Bonjour Catherine,
Alors pas trop le mal du pays ??? Un petit séjour en France prévu dans les prochains mois avec, qui sait, une participation aux expos pour tes beaux chiens ???
Amitiés
Hello Catherine,
I'm glad you had a good birthday. We'll get our wee boy in the end of the month, so not long to go :-)
Best regards from Scotland,
Nicole
:-)
Hi there Catherine
Well I was OK up until this morning. The hot water tank is leaking somewhere?? and it is dripping on the stairs so damage all round especially to my bank balance...and this is a new house...
What with three 31/2 month old puppies running a muck everywhere now. I just want to go to bed and get up when it is all fixed, and they are gone...well two of them..
Will hopefully get some 'decent' pictures of the boy soon.
Hi there Catherine
Well the tank wasn't the problem, apparently, so have got to have another plumber to come and see, jobs worth thing, but it is going to cost me another call out, EeeeKkkkk..
The pet passport thing is not that complicated but that is only if you get the correct info, DEFRA was a great help, and some just can't get their heads around the fact that they aren't coming back soon, but they both have their passports now to all ready to go, they will be collected on the 14th, so am really looking forward to that, its such a shame, I do love them to bits, but have had them too long now, don't know how people run on two or three. Perhaps I am just getting too old...Dee and the gang
Hello Catherine and thank you for the comment on my blog...did it feel great winning? Yes it did, but compared to the endless hours waiting around...I am not so certain. So I shall NOT make a habit out of showing! :-)
Bonjour Catherine,
Amicalement.

Thank you for your positive feedback on my comment, I'm always hesitant to join debates like that because it almost always turns ugly for some people. It seems like dog owners are more protective of their dogs then of their kids when it comes to critique :)
It is so nice to see that you like to train your dogs and that you join ft-training sessions. It is a great way to spend a weekend :) I must say that after starting with ft-training with our dog we have met so many nice people all around Norway, and we have seen so much great nature!
Good luck with both ft-training and showing :)
Hello Catherine, good to see you are active in field trials!
Sorry to report my tries to chase an English translation failed, not available said the secretary of the NISK.
It does not surprise me that you see some resemblance in Norway. Keep up the good work and good luck,
Regards Henk.
Same to you have a wonderful day tomorrow, I am going to have fun with my son and his wife,(she hates dogs) so things will be interesting...Dee and the gang
hello Catherine, thanks for the wishes!
i have been in pain for days now because of a tooth, big inflammation, swollen face, so the dentist cannot remove it yet. they cut my gums and put in stuff to make me feel better (???)... lets hope i get rid of the tooth this year so i can have a drink :-)
have a nice time in france!

I wrote about the collar (after having had 6 dogs test it) and it was amazing....the danger is that there is NO LAW to stop you from having plastic collars during any type of compertition. I have heard cases of people spraying their clothes with DAP before entering a show....
And WOW the previously shy dog will now show himself!
Yet when I brought this to the kennel-clubs attention, they could not call this "not allowed".
No rules to cover this....
And unless you use the collar...there is not a sign of it!
That is why I feel strongly about it.
Its a great tool but as we all know...if there is a way to cheat for better results...people will do it!
In fact some may not even think they are in anyway cheating...
Hello Catherine - the boys are doing well and enjoying the last bit of snow there is.... They went absolutely crazy a couple of days ago when we had snow again in the morning! I don't mind it at all as it means the house stays cleaner for a wee bit longer before the muddy weather comes around again....
Hope you and yours are well too!
Thank you Catherine. We knew it was time but the final decision is the hardest. Shannon shared so much of our life - as do all our dogs - and really enjoyed France! We have many happy memories: she loved canoing:-)
hi Catherine, still some snow lefet, about 25 cm maybe. right now beautiful sunshine, should go out with Danka - but soooo lazy today. but will have to go, she deservs it :)
hugs from us
Laura & Danka
not really. it was quite hard to walk in the snow, the surface was frozen and i kept crashing into the snow and the camera was just not safe i felt. :-)
Bonjour Catherine,
Hello Catherine...yes I satyed at home for my Birthday this year (being brave) and did have a totally brilliant time with the house full of friends and family, flowers and champagne! :-)
Oh mine was supposed to be a "nothing"-day...with mucking out horses and walks with dogs (got all that done as well) so this was not planned but rather just happened. I suppose that made it so good...nobody dressed up, no speaches...just the fun part as a total surprise.
Hope you like the pic taken sunday. ive loaded it on fb also. Im still tired from sunday.Trust you got home ok. Our journey was better than expected due to leaving venue later than normal....
Hi Catherine !
really nice to meet you to :-)) We had a great stay, dogs, shopping and monday went to Lynn and her 10 setterbabys, lovely end of a lovely weekend.
see you soon....I hope !
