I live in the County of Cornwall, United Kingdom with my husband Ian and family of Irish Setters. They are firstly our pets and all live in and have access to the whole of the house. Our family had our first Irish Setter in 1976 and since then I have had great fun and enjoyed some success with the dogs I have shown and of course meeting lots of new friends over the years. The picture shows the foundation bitch of the Polmennor's, Lynwood Castaspell Over Polmennor, she was my very special 'Magic'

Hi Angela, I'm new to the group and have no idea how to send anything . I wanted to say Hello and Merry Christmas from the US. bogielg@msn.com . Lola Gamble
Nice to hear that you´re a friend of Donal! I was supposed to go to England with Barbro in December but I didn´t dare as you never know when the baby will arrive. So I have only meet Miller but reallly looking forward to meet the rest of Donal´s doggang including Merlin! What is his pedigree? The baby could come every day now, I´m waiting as I quite big... Siofra is due in the beginning of Febuary. We are really looking forward to Siofra´s and Miller´s puppies. Wish you a pleasant week! All the best Jenny
Thanks! Redley just loves mud! The thicker the better! He doesn't seem to mind the hose afterwards either! Anything that makes a mess makes wee Red happy!! Like you say, makes housework all the harder, but worth the extra hassle!! Take care
Hi there Angela
Thanks for the birthday comments for Jas, it was a lovely comment. I can't take the credit for the picture being there, phoned poor Nicole at 8.30 this morning and she talked me through it.
Dee and the girls
Thanks for the comment on Jas's win, Sorry I wasn't there when they did the puppy although it could have been Nigel Naylor's, He had a couple of puppies entered but not sure, sorry...
Dee and the girls
I assume your comment relates to carmenere i will be pleased that she has moved on to Junior.I hope to bring out some puppies in two weeks time they are just 6mths old. There does seem to be a lot of nice puppies about so competition will be tough.
Lucky you that you have a nice sunny day in Cornwall it is overcast here at the moment but the sun may yet make an appearence.Happy Easter.
Sorry to haven't got in contact for so long time, and thanks for wondering about me, Sarah and her pups. She is doing fine, a bit fat after the litter but we work on it :-)
OF COURSE I have kept a girl, this is the reason to do this breeding. Going to introduce her on this site soon, so hope you will not miss the blog. So glad Willow doing great at the shows. I always keep an eye on UK results, so I know she has been winning nicely so far. A new challenge she is for you, but she will cope with the others, so I will hear a lot about her in the future, I bet :-))
Going to sleep now, but will write you soon again.
Hugs to you and the rest / Marta
Thanks Angela, I have been showing my cairn and Freya need time to mature. I am going to mate Ashley's sister as soon as, although Jorja keeps asking me when can she be a mum again.I have been keeping an eye on the results and you've also been doing really well with Willow. Luv, Diane.
Hello Angela, thank you for your comment, her name is Garden Star`s Kindle Light ( Queenstone the Jee Jee Man, Garden Star`s Bonnie Tylor).
Greetings from Austria Yvonne
Lovely to hear from you, Angela.
I just love Cornwall, and it sounds great there at the moment with your fine weather. We have finally had rain, but it came with a vengeance, three days ago, and has only just stopped. Now it is rather cold, so the wood fire has been going all day and night.
By the way, love the dry stone walls in your photos. Something I would love to learn. Saw plenty up in Cumbria.
Glad you enjoyed Bumble. She makes us laugh every day.

Thank´s Angela!
You are so lucky living in Cornwall and those lovely beaches..
Old mum has got the first swim for this year also, has been so hot and today 30+

hi Angela, sorry for writing just now, wanted to thank you for the comment on my "bad-topline" Danka. don't worry, i know what i have in her and don't care about stupid remarks and judgings. her topline and movement are two of the best traits in her, beside the head that i just love and her temperament. oh well, she is mine and i love her to bits. will always be thankful to Camilla for letting me have her.
have a nice and sunny week! here it has been raining for 10 days now in a row, basically all day long. hope you have better weather!
laura & the girls
maggie already stands up for her "sisters". My two other lovely border girls, Bess and Luna.
Some friends brougth their dog around last weekend and Bess was playing with Carlota. They got a bit ruff with each other and Maggie started growling at the other dog. Hey – You hurt my sister, you’ll have to deal with me!
Thank you Abgela so much for your comments about my dogs;I appreciate your opinion.
Yes you are right,my breeding is based on the known english lines and I am not going to make any mixtures,as I try to breed quality not quantity and not being the commercial breeder.
Hope to exchange some points of you in the future concerning our beautiful breed!
Best wishes Vojna
Hi there Angela, thanks so much for that, like you I have only had three previous litters in the 30 something years I have been around dogs, but they all ate really well all the time. This little madam will eat my food but not hers, you would think that I was poisoning her, she has never been a good eater, this is the first time in her life that she has ever had weight on her. She still is of a good weight, and she is now eating a little bit of chicken and tripe. But it is all giving her the runs, and she is on tablets to stop that, so I am on tender-hooks all the time as to how she is going to feed the puppies, I am less worried than I was, and I am now, as you say, enjoying it all, watching her develop, and looking forward to the birth, I hope all is going to go well. Thanks so much for you comment though I will keep you informed, and it seems that this, not eating, is quite common so am not nearly so worried as I first was.
All the best and thanks again Dee and the girls
Hey Angela
Thanks for the comment, well with still two weeks to go I could feel them all wriggling about in there, she has been sick this morning I think she need 5 meals now, and there is only 10 days to go, believe me she is bigger now that when the photos were taken, must be nearly a week ago now. And yes the box is big, when I got it I thought that it was huge but not any more..all a bit scary. Ah well will find out soon. Most of my previous pups have been 1lb-1lb 3oz whatever that is in grams I don't know.. thanks again Dee and the girls
hi Angela, in our bath room we have two bathroom tidies for keeping shampoos etc. Henry's is full of his specialist hair treatments, Loreal straighteneing shampoo, conditioner, thermo blowdrying cream, Pantene straightening shampoo etc etc, Aussie straightening shampoo, intensive cond treatment, leave in cond etc etc etc. On the human tidy there is 1 bottle morrisons own shampoo and 1 bottle morrisons own cond. I think I need to get a life or get a grip !!!!!!
Kirsty
Yes I think that you may be rite, funny thing is she didn't want to know about ''that kind of thing'' just goes to show how easy a girl can get into trouble..;o))
Hello Angela! And thank you for your comment on Ivy and her foal. But that is the one and only show the foal will go to...and the only one allowed. You get one shot at it, and that is it!
So if you did not like the result...hard luck!
But they do have two judges working together so I suppose its slightly more fair than a dogshow.
Hi there Angela
I am finding difficulty in keeping anything up at the moment, I have lost about half a stone over the past couple of weeks. I suppose that I am lucky I don't use skirts. much to my granddaughters disgust, she thinks that I should where more ladylike clothes, and the critique came from a three and a half year old. perhaps she is rite, I am not very ladylike...Ah well to old to change now...Dee and the gang
I think that you are rite, it is all a matter of ''worry'' I had my first litter back in the early 70's and then a couple in the early to mid 80's and then nothing since then, so it is like the first all over again, but with extras. perhaps it is when you get older you seem to worry more about your wee ''charges'' and I haven't had stairs for many years, (I would love a quid for every time I have been up and down them,) I have only lost 1/2 stone so far, but that has been quite a revelation, haven't been this weight since, (well it doesn't bare thinking about)
I hope all went well with your litter as far as CLAD is concerned, Saffy is the first one to be tested before mating for the new eye thing, she isn't affected by it, but until we get a DNA test for it then she could still be carrying the gene for it, its a big gamble, ah well its all a gamble, but an educated one is always better, than nothing. All the best Dee and the gang
Thanks for the comment on the babies, tell you what though Findlay is more trouble than all his brothers and sisters put together. And how he is growing, nearly the same size as his mother, although I don't think he is going to be the biggest. I don't think that my boy is the pick of the litter, I think that Tania's boy Fergal is the best one, and Aleks has the pick of the girls. she is really pretty, she will be over here in the UK again in about June/July time. I think that is when she is supposed to be back. And the ''elegant'' one is Newton he is now in Poland...
I just love your ''old girl'' my she looks good for her age, Jas is nearly white in the face, and now that she is more or less retired, she is fat and woolly. Speak soon Dee and the gang
No my bitch that I think you are refering to was Loshian Lady May who did go back to Sowerhill lines via her mum. We lost her in 2007 at 12 with complications connected to Cushings.
Angela, thank you so much for your kind words about Ivy.
I did check out your website and the pictures of your horses that lived such long and happy lives.
Loved the story about Valstar...:-)
I have had to put many dogs and cats down over the years, and although it is hard loosing any animal, somehow this was so much more.
Perhaps becourse horses are such big and powerful animals and seem so strong in every way.
She was a super horse and is missed by us all.
Hi Angela, Glad things are going better, keep faith with Willow you will be surprised, my old boy Heathclare Del Rio (Ronni) as a youngster, turned his hips inside out & was hit by a car, and had tonsillitus lots of times. The vets told me he would not make old bones, he has just celebrated his 12th birthday, see picture on my site. To get him right I took him swimming like you but i also went to a McTimony Chiropratic person that did wanders for him, I did show him but he never had a much coat due to the Tonsillitus, so I put him away till he was a veteran and we had a great time in the ring, you have my home number give me a call if you would like to chat in more detail,
keep faith
Regards
Claire
Hi Angela,
thank you for your comment about my Conner, he loves to play in the snow, he is almost 5 years but still like a pup in his mind :)
Hope Diva and babies are doing great, good luck with them!
Greetings

Glad Mum and Pups are all fine, I am off to the Midlands on Sat after missing Boston because of the weather, like you, I have enjoyed a break, and now my shows are quite well spread out, S of England, then Crufts, after that ISBC - look forward to seeing more pics of your babies, and catch up with you at Crufts, take care, x
Thank you Angela for your kind words on the loss of our dear Shannon. I know you have recently been through worrying times yourself. I am so very grateful that we had Shannon for many years and I think I may say she enjoyed every moment of life! She loved posing for the camera and I think it shows. Thank you for appreciating the pictures of her life.
kind regards
Susan
I am sure she will mend beautifully, Angela. I know it is difficult to believe, knowing that there are weeks of rehabilitation in front, and worrying if she will be left with a limp, but I am sure, given time, everything will settle back to normal. What you are doing is the best form of physiotherapy, so enjoy those beautiful babies and be positive.
M XX
i can imagine how hard it is to chose that special pup from many lovely ones. looking forward to more pics later on and see how Rosa and Spice develop. and yes, personality plus is needed, in the show ring and at home as well!
thanks angela, it couldnt have been done without alot of help from kathrina hall his breeder he went over for three weeks of holiday,i won his first green star at st patricks day show, martin fulsey has a bitch of your breeding and i think his going to use ben when she comes in season. how u going showin at the moment ,
