I live on 17 acres, north of Mackay, Central Queensland, Australia with my husband, Paul and my two sons, Kelvin and Mitchell with our dogs, horses, cows, goats and chooks.
I have owned and loved UK Type Irish Setters since 1988 when I got my first male Irish from Mary Clarke and Norm Clarke from the Rhuboda Kennel in Brisbane, Queensland. I then also bought a female from Rhuboda and bred my first litter in 1992. Since then I have owned Irish Setters from the Kelliher, Brazenwinds, Linleymvorne and Nanyima Kennels. In 2010, I imported a lovely female puppy from the Millcroft Kennel in UK to restart my breeding program.
Currently I have:
Emby (Brazenwinds Maybe ET) 13yrs;
Clancy (Aust Ch. Nanyima City Clan TD) 3 yrs;
Bridget (Aust Ch. Millcroft Moon Dreamer imp UK) 2 yrs;
2010 In Memoriam:
Monty (Aus Ch. Kelliher Regal Red CD. ET) 11yrs 9mths - RIP 23/01/2010.
A red kid from traditional parents means that both parents carry the "red" gene. Breeding a red to a red means (I jolly well hope!) that the kids will be red. Mine are all descended from embryos originally imported from South Africa by Landcorp NZ & implanted into surrogate mums. Ain't technology grand LOL ...
Hello,
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful new year full of happiness
together with your beloved setters:-))
As for me, I will be standing my new year’s eve with my lovely irish girl, MIRA!!!
It was my true wish for Christmas and the new year!!!
Lots of Love from Istanbul
From Ilkay & Mira (who is just 9 weeks old!)

Hi Cheryl - Thanks for your message. I wanted to respond to your questions on the dog database or information repository. You have a great idea and it would be very valuable for ES members. Unfortunately, such capabilities are beyond what Ning currently offers. The best way is to find someone who does web development for a living and has a passion for dogs, enough to do some pro bono work. Sorry that we couldn't do this for the Community. Maybe in the future Ning will offer this capability.
Hello Cheryl,
Thank you for your comment on Charlie. I didn't keep a puppy from this litter but all living near by me so can see how they are changing. Will also take photos of the girls soon.
The dogs in the picture of 3 are L to R Millcroft Moon Quest Goldings Arnie of Millcroft (Liam) and Millcroft Moon River (Sassie) who decided that birds were more important than the show hence her name Sassie cause she is!!
Hi Cheryl, the two litters are enjoying playing together. Bimble is staying with us. As you will have guessed, we are hoping she will give us everything Bumble did!

I feel the older I get...the less do I enjoy the competition work...so I have cut down a lot on this. Used to be almost constantly before...just fighting for the Champion-title. Now I mainly enjoy the trying to figure out how to teach them what I want them to do.
Hi Cheryl
my compter crashed and is now in intensive care... all I have is a slow laptop and difficulty accesing my e-mail account. I just hope the specialists can rescue my pedigree database!!!
- Hope to be back in working mode mid next week. Fingers crossed!
thanks Cheryl for your comments! thankfully Danka is doing great since Odin is gone, animals know so much better. Danka being alone means for me that i give her all that extra attention - maybe also to calm my own soul.
see here on your site that you plan a puppy girl, good luck with it, hope you find the pup of your dreams :) i have also some plans, we'll see how much turns reality!
Hello Cheryl, thank you for adding me as a friend. I would love to hear from you here in California at the moment. It was interesting that you asked about Innuedo, his father is here with me, and his children are doing so well, he now has 5 Am.Ch and he hass just been used inAustralia. Pat
Hi Cheryl - glad to hear you haven't been blown or washed away! Certainly has been bad up your way.
Terrible storm here yesterday - listed as a "natural disaster," but for once, we in the Hills, remained fairly ok. :-)
Hello Cheryl,
Glad that you wrote:) All is fine with me and my dogs. Babies after Maggie and Jingles are growing up very fast:) Also hope that everything is alright with you.
Greetings from Poland,
Marta

Hi Cheryl
Not a great deal of sucess. There are lots of beautiful dogs for royal and nsw irish assoc shows. It a bit of eeni meeni miney mo. Some judges did appeared to be lost and lost plot maybe.( May have a little kennel blindness). Youngin is way out of coat and almost looked naked. But its good to see family and some old friends.
Cheers Rick
Thanks for your note, Charlie is settling in well and keeping us pretty busy.
One thing we are trying to correct is play biting. We have tried giving him a toy instead and also tried saying "noo" in a loud voice, but those trouser legs are just too tempting - any ideas ?
Hi Cheryl
I must confess the pedigree database has been on hold since end Feb - just too many other things happening!
At the moment I have a dog back from my breeding needing a new home, meaning I am assessing and training him. Luckily after a couple of 'rough-and-tumbles' he and Glen seem to be getting on ok. Glen is top dog!
Any news your part of the world?
best wishes
Susan
Thanks, Cheryl:-)) Flynn is here for re-homing and after a bath & a trim I thought he looked rather nice. Quite different to Glen though and the two boys had a bit of rough behaviour to start with. To top it all, their dam Erin has come on heat a month early so it is pretty chaotic here... no kennels and high fences here!
Hope you are having fun with your youngsters!
all the best
Susan

Cheryl,
Great pics and dogs-congratulations. Captiva's current Canadian star Ch Captiva's Turning Heads is 1/4 Australian ( Ch Tullane Thesis by Design ).It appears that many future Irish will be international and a combination of English/Australian/US/ and other combinations. My dental assistant's family is from a town near Melbourne and I hope to visit both her family and some of Australia's Irish soon. Again, thanks for the welcome, John
