Have been racing and breeding sleddogs since 1964. At the most I had 22 dogs and a litter of puppies. I have always had a hunting dog a birddog or a dog for dearhuntig. I have 3 arab horses. My youngest dauther is also innterested in dogs and horses. After looking for red and whites for for many years, I got contact with Margaret Sierakowski. My first IRWS was Dalriach Goshawk and Dalriach Highpoint My kennelname is Toboggan reg. in 1972.I want to breed and work good looking dogs, well trained and healthy.
Field Trials are similar to our Hunt Tests and can be either horseback or walking. The dogs are judged against each other instead of against a standard like in the Hunt Tests. There are different levels from Puppy to Derby to Gun Dog...
Hei igjen.

Hei igjen Thor Erik. Det var ikke trening på Kvelde i går, så jeg fikk jordet helt for meg selv. Tok å trente litt dresur samt ga han noen slipp, men da ble han veldig yr... Her trengs det mer trening.
Sorry for answering so late. Just started a gunshop and lots of work to do.
We use O'Faolain now only for hunting and she is great. She has done some trials and - as you may read on IRWS clubs homepage - managed really very well;-))) Nice to hear more about her niece in Norway at your kennel.
my little boy by Tullamore Troupadore x IR Sh Ch Dalriach Indigo Moon At Ardbraccan thrilled me to bits on Sat by winning best puppy in Breed at Birmingham National Champ Show theres a smashing pic of him on www.irishredandwhitesetters.co.uk with the Judge im so pleased with him
Thank you for inviting me as your friend Thor. Your dogs are beautiful and look as though they enjoy life. I am not a Pape really but am married to a Pape. We came over to Australia from the U.K. 3 years ago. My husband will be interested to hear from you as there are not many Papes around. I will tell him about you.
Thank you for your reply, about your lovely dogs, and not trimming ears.
Here in GB we do trim them for the shows, but I must admit to leaving most of my dogs ears long, but the ends are trimmed.
It is not in the breed standard with regards to trimming ears. I think it its a matter of choice, and as you work your dogs there is not point.
I think you have some super stock too.
Suzanne.
Thor,
the pedigree of my puppies and dogs goes back to my original first R/W in 1987, called Sh. Ch. Spearpoint Sambooka Flambe. You can see him on my site.
My present stock all go back to him one way or another.
Our new puppies are from a bitch we brought in called Laoirebay All That Jazz Among Spyefire,/ Sire our Spyefire Priceless, who is a Flambe grandson, from Sh. Ch. Cormallen Strike A Light With Spyefire/ Jazz Sire is Sh. Ch Tullamore Ted. Who is a Dalriach Archoneadon son. from working stock. We are so pleased with our pups. Suzanne.

Thor,
Like you say, any R/W could work, as they have that natural instinct. My dogs often display that when they are out on exercise.
In my bitch's pedigree she goes back to Dalriach Auchindoun, Kesterel of Cherryfield, Bawnrhua Smart Fella (Ft. Ch.) so she does have some working stock in her lines.
They have tied up so well with my dog, on the Laoirebay side.
Our pups are very alike and very of good type, we had planned this litter for a long time now.
They grow so quickly now at four weeks old..;
Suzanne.
Thor,
very interesting pedigree obviously from many working lines I am not familier with.
But I love the look of your R/W's. Do your dogs live in the house or in kennels?
Do you own horses too?
I used to own them many years ago, but only dogs now.
Suzanne.
Hi Thor. The little girl in the photos is my grand-daughter Eva. She is an absolute delight and tries to play with Derry but as yet they don't quite understand each other. My husband John is on Facebook so I shall get him to email you with details. If I may I can send your email address to John's uncle in the U.K. as he has been doing research into the English Papes

I have also Red&White setters ;)
