Two again. Darwin (17/10/2004) and Mac (born 1/6/11).
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
Since 1996
About Me:
My love story with Irish setters started in 1996 with the most wonderful IS ever - MC, a field trial with Monroad ancestors. I was so lucky to have this very special and clever boy!!! Unfortunately, I lost him in May 2010, a couple of days short before his 14th birthday.
In between, in January 2005 came very handsome Darwin, the sweetest nature possible, Irish born with Thendara gd-parents. Recently we had a new addition to the family, Mac (the holy terror), born the 1/6/2011 from Sumaric Mr. Jingles and Thendara Vanilla Ice.
Thank you for the Birthday wishes, there was no lie in for me on my birthday we were up at 5.30am as normal, but i did get a cold wet nose in my face the best birthday present ever x
Mac is doing very well, he has managed very easily and successfully to exhaust me completely ... :-(
I could really do without his teeth in my flesh. Otherwise, 2.5 kilos in 2.5 weeks, practically 3 inches more in height, forgot to measure the length. I love to see him in picture only now ... :-(
Definitly, none of my previous dogs were as terrible as this one ... really and he is suppose to be a Thendara!!!! the laidback gene is faulting in this one... :-(
When we say to him, time to go to bed now, he goes upstair alone, and sleep all nice on his bed ... and here is stupid me, watching this adorable little thing and feeling all emotional until I get his teeth in my arm ... :-)
Did not remember it was so time consuming to have a puppy ... must be getting seriously old here :-)
How is Sophie doing? does she bites like Mac? Cuddles from the boys to your beautiful girls.
Hi Chantal, Thanks for the message. Didn't actually have a cake, but if I had had one, it would have been dog friendly, and the lads would have had their share. :)
Many thanks for you good wishes. Much appreciated. Not for birthday as I am going to my parents at Christmas who live in Spainand a holiday in September to USA for the last time. I will not put a young pup in kennels as I do not think it is fair and I want to "bond" with him - yes I want a dog and I have a friend looking out for me for January so he will be a wonderful much belated "Christmas present" !! All the best - Sally.
Hi Chantal thanks for the note how is your new puppy getting on I'm so jealous they are so much fun,Life has been rough lately my sister has been diagnosed with secondary cancer in her bones and liver from the breast cancer we thought she had overcome. We were told if she responds well to treatment she may have some years and so far she has had good response so fingers crossed. It has been an emotional roller coaster..On a brighter note Elton won a really good challenge a few weeks ago he looked and performed stunningly I was so proud , the next day he would not let the judge near him and refused to stack one day a rooster the next a feather duster!!! all good fun
Hi Chantal! Poor Darwin, Chantal and David!
Barbara
Many thanks for your welcome. Congratulations on the recent addition of Mac to your family. I'm sure he's just beautiful. Did you get Darwin from Dorothy by any chance? Asking this because my Olive is one of Dorothy's.
Unfortunately, they are not brothers and sisters as Olive is just 1 year and 8 months but they are most likely related. I forgot to say that we live in Claudy.
Thankyou Chantal for your kind words for my sister she is responding quite well so far we will know more in a week or so when some more tests are done.
How is little Mac getting on? best wishes to you and your family
Thank you for welcoming me, Chantal! I've just updated my page with a few pictures of my dog, hope you enjoy it. Just seen your page aswell, lovely dogs you got there!
Hallo Chantal! Der neue Blog über euren Mac ist so lieb. Er kann ja so arm und traurig schauen. Ich hoffe deine Schwester ist nicht zu streng mit ihm :-) Hat Sie auch Hunde? Liebe Grüße Barbara
Many thanks for your very kind words & well wishes for Legolas, we're all keeping out fingers & paws crossed that this will finally be it, the poor chap deserves a rest from pain & procedures.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Chantal. We've had a good day, even though the weather has been atrocious! I don't remember another 10th of August where it has rained so incessantly. Still, we lit the wood burner and it's been very nice cuddling Luna and Murphy in front of it (once they had stopped bonging!). Take care :-)
Hi Chantal, thanks very much for the welcome. I am sifting through pictures of my littl ginger beast as I type this. I will definitely get some on here, I have just been distracted by looking at everyone else's gorgeous boys and girls :o).
Yes, contemplating and looking around. Have had setters since before I was born... but last one died suddenly at 7yo- the first we'd ever had with premature health problems.
Hi Chantal! I'm from Belfast and after losing our setter last October my father and I are looking for a red setter pup. Waiting to hear from a breeder if she is expecting puppies so hopefully we will have one soon! What is the show in Belfast you mentioned?
Hi Chantal, thanks for your best wishes. Myra choose one of her Swedish AI boys, Gillou as I live on the other side of Australia and can't see Myra's dog's in person so left it up to her expertise. I must ask Myra how to download photos onto the computer. Kind regards, Nardi
Well if Myra is handling the choice, a real expert she is and you can be guaranteed of having a super litter. I will have to ask Myra to show us pictures of Gillou. You got me very excited now, I would like to see the puppies already!!!! :-)
Hi Chantal. I never get fed up looking at Irish Setters, but some people do. After about 30 years with them, I still love them to bits. Riley is wonderful, although he is a setter and tends to be naughty. Our whole family love him more than you could imagine. He does get spoilt a bit! Andy
