Hello Dorothy, both of us carry the rare and same name. We bare the great passion for the Irishs for a long time. Not just on the basis of this cause I'd like to add you as a friend. Also I'm able now to congratulate. What a big success in 2008 on Crufts!
"L. Mickey Blue Eyes" is a raving beauty. Best regards from Germany, Angelika Park
I'm not sure if this message reached you before?!

    Hi Dorothy,
Do you remember... a bit more than 5 years ago, you gave us this bundle of joy!!!

He is more handsome than ever, and the spoiled roten one of course, no one can resist him ...
have you ever had one of your setters using the phone??? Darwin loves to speak on the phone ....when he hears me saying some "magic" words such as his name, or David, he put his head on my shoulder, wants me to put the telephone near his ears, and then will start to sing ... the length of the song depends on his degree of attachment to the person ...
and some ignorant people are still asking or even worse, declaring that Irish Setters are stupid!!!!!
  • David McIlveen Wright

and he's still a cheeky monkey! But cool!

  • Chantal McIlveen-Wright

Dorothy, no pictures yet of your wonderful dogs, both Irish Setters and Gordon setters!!! not even handsome, gorgeous Mickey blue eyes!!!!! Too busy Lady we know, I was just looking for a picture of Darwin's father who I believe was one of your dog.
    Have a very nice weekend

    Hi Dorothy,

Delighted to hear that you have a lovely lady friend for Mickey. He'll be over the moon. Eugene & I rescued a lassie type collie (lovely boy) last week. He stayed overnight with us and thankfully we were able to trace the owner the next day. I came across a small rehoming centre in Co. Clare (Homeward Bound) and they have a male Irish red setter looking to be rehomed called Duke. He's also on the irishanimals.ie website under homes needed (click on setters). Maybe you could help? Thanks, Mary.

  • Mary O'Neill

That's grand. Many thanks Dorothy. Lucy is a lovely name. Hopefully, it will all work out for her.
  • Mary O'Neill

It's great that they are both rehomed. I'll keep an eye out for anymore on the rehoming websites.

I might see you at the Kings Hall. I entered online but I am still waiting for the IKC to confirm my membership.

ah i can imagine, its heartbreaking, 13 and in her own until u found her. fair play dorothy, its rewarding though im sure. we rescued our own wee man from the pound where he was for 2 wks without anyone showing interest in him!i only have a link of sam the 2yr old , not sure what his story is but seen it on a local charitys facebook page , here he is http://www.lasthope.ie/?p=6216   and  here is a couple of pics of the pup , Ive never met him but wouldve loved him if i wasnt renting , only allowed 1 dog :(
  • Chantal McIlveen-Wright

Thanks for the info Dorothy, cannot wait to see Calie now!!!!

  • Mary O'Neill

    Hi Dorothy.

Many thanks for sending me the entry form. It is very much appreciated. I don't know if you have viewed irishanimals.ie recently but there is an irish setter called Ricky needing a home. Maybe you might know of someone who would be interested in giving him a good home. He seems like a lovely boy.  Hopefully you will be able to view his details on this site but if you have any problems, give me a buzz as I have saved the info.

    Thanks,

    Mary.
