Carmel your opinion thanks. I know there has been many discussions regarding desexing etc. I don't wish to have Molly desexed now because of the past problems I had with my last two IS. The incontenience thing was the worst. If I board her at the kennels like I did last time when in season it should be o.k. We don't intend to show or breed but it is just those issues.
Yes, Myra leased me a lovely bitch called Regae nearly 16 years ago to put to my English imported dog whose bloodlines on his sire's side went back to my first imported dog, Ginger Meggs (b. 1975). I have since sent one of the bitches from this resulting litter, Rachel who I had to have put down on St Patricks Day to Nome her Swedish import. I am hoping to send a bitch from that litter back to Myra to put to one of her dog's later in the year. I met Myra in Sydney as the breeder of my imported dog, Majorie Jarosz had judged Myra in South Australia and introduced us. This is probably 20 years+ ago now. Oops it is making us sound old.
that is extra points from when we met isn't it. How did she earn them and where? and where are you showing this weekend.
Yes the sight is great for info and gaining knowledge. been a real buzz. not one for electronic media normally but now doing what I criticise my kids for.
molly is o.k. now ......great about annabelle. Molly alseep on the lounge. I should have a good look at Molly's pedigree. Yes we were up in Alice where my son now lives and husband came back really sick. I hate it when they get sick such babies... cooler weather now which Molly likes Carmel we are so happy with her she is really part of our family. Can't wait for my son and his family to meet her at Xmas when they come to Sydney. They have 4 little ones so Molly will be really excited.
Hi Carmel - I noticed the email notification problem yesterday and I have reports of it that go back a month that I was never notified on. I will raise with Ning Support. Tanks for your patience here!
Everyone is doing well, thanks, including Maia, who is back to her old self :) :) Good news about Annabelle - she should title in no time! Aneira is on 48 points, I think...I've lost count. and will have to go check the CCs. She is very stubborn and hard to show well, but we have fun anyway. I think her best years will be age 3+, exactly like her mother...and exactly like a good Irish Setter SHOULD mature...nice and slowly!!
Your right about Cheryl, I asked her if she knew a kennel prefix from years ago, She did not find the prefex info but she came back with a name of a dog under that prefex and it was our old dog we used to show. The one I told you about that was over aneithasised by the vet and stopped breeding for I while. We went through his old chalenge points and he had his 100, but we could not find the old pedegrees and we just can't remember who we got him from.Old timers desease.
We have been in touch with Cheryl a bit over Pedigrees, Gay has become quite adicted to it, She has traced back some of Annabelles and Mac's line back to the late 1880's
Just a question Molly came into season last November any ideas when you think she will again. Keeping my fingers crossed not for a few months because that will tie into the time she will be at the kennels when we go away for a few days. I am not having her desexed but of course will not breed. hanrob boarding kennels will take her when she in season as they did last time. Expensive but at least I know they will look after her and she is safe.
So when does Molly become Aunt Molly very exciting for you
Carmel, how are things going. you were right about meeting interesting people on this site.
if you can go to my page and look at a message I got from someone called Love Nelly. I am not sure if she wants to talk about setters?. Me and Gay had a good laugh and I declined the offer.
thats so good. You must be very proud of her. Molly hates it when she hears kids on scateboards or anything like a wheeler bin. I think it is the same sound as she experienced when she was put on the plane to come to Sydney. She loves the car just sits there on the back seat.
How would you travel to the Royal Easter Show if you came?? Give her a hug and she has done so well. Molly just stole the cats dinner (red salmon they had a treat)
Now I am confused. I must have a better look at Molly's pedigree. You mention Molly's niece.
Hope you can bring Annabelle. We would have to catch up outside the show as I would not be able to bring Molly into the area. Anyway ages away yet so all will be good. I would love you to see her she is so good. Our last IS used to get car sick a real pain and very messy. She did grow out of it. When she went to hanrob for boarding they had a special place in the van so she could look out that seemed to work.
Quinn is now 9 weeks old and owns the place. He has two personna - wonderfull pup and nightmare pup. The latter appears about 8.30 in the evening and is as much our fault as his. He comes into the living room with us; we want to watch TV; he wants to play and if we don't keep him occupied he turns to entertaining himself in "naughty" ways. He doesn't know right from wrong at this age of course.
It will all be worth it in the end and we will have a loving adult dog, hopefully for many years. But puppies can be hardwork!
thanks for making it clear. I said to Neil last night maybe there is another brother or sister that we don't know about. You must be getting excited???
thanks Carmel... Molly alseep once again. Is that Annabelle in your profile picture when she was younger. I wonder if they did meet whether they would know each other???
no I did not know that unless you told me and I forgot but I don't think I would forget something like that. I thought she came from a litter of 15 and that was that. That is really awful. How can you control something like that. You have a good vet so should have it under control. I can understand why you would be nervous.
i just love Molly to bits. More interested in her immediate pedigree. I have spoken to Cheryl briefly ages ago on the site
Thanks for that info. You should have beautiful pups. Whats with the black spot on their tongue/mouth. I remember years ago someone saying something about it.
one thing about Molly is sometimes she snores quite loudly and seems to be blocked in her nose. I mentioned it to the vet and he did not say much. I thought she may have blocked sinus or something. Any comments would be appreciated about that. Most likely nothing. I tease her and tell her she has a sleep disorder and needs a mask. ha ha
thanks. i will investigate the snoring further as it seems she does have some conjestion there sometimes. Not to worry about now, next time she is down at the vets. She is going to have her nails done today. i don't feel confident doing them. The girls at the vets will do. Talk later
Hi Carmel good luck with the car training the key is to make sure the dog succeeds calmly set achievable goals one step at a time , I probably won't be in sydney for the royal we can't make any plans as my sister is undergoing treatment for cancer and my wife and I are her main carers, we enter some shows and if she is ok we go if not we don't it's a week by week thing. Take loads of photos so I can share the moment it'd be great to meet everyone cheers Peter
Hi Carmel... You should be very proud of the litter as I am sure you are. Aunt Molly is excited too having so many nieces and nephews. They are darlings... Eunice
I am sure hubby will be fine with them. I would worry also. You would need to leave step by step instructions for him I guess. You are bringing Annabelle's Dad and the pups DAD? All very exciting. I will keep in touch.
Would love to meet you! I live approx. an hour and 25mins from Dublin, so not too far;o) Also you will be around for the Christmas Ch. dog show on the 27th(in Dublin)
We can organise directions etc. before your trip;o)
Hi Carmel....so lovely to meet your and your beautiful dogs yesterday :). Has made me even more eager to get back into the ring! Will probably drop in to the Ekka to see the Setter judging. Are you entered?
