Hi Jutta I saw your message to late I was doing other things on my laptop but stayed logged on.

Good luck with your spray collar lets hope it works or you.

The only reason  I used the shock collar was I was at that desperate point and had tried everything. I think if you have a dog who will come to you for food then ok the methods that Cornelia suggested might work. My setter couldn't care less about food when she is out for a walk no i'll rephrase that run as setters never walk much.

My setter now asks me whether she can go off and run but always now keeps me in sight. We still put the collar on if we are going somewhere new but only ever now use the bleep. They remember that after the bleep came a little shock and yes I have tried it and the only time it would be cruel is when you are repeatedly press the shock button. Yes I can see how they can be miss used in the wrong hands but i'm talking about an owner who loves her setter and wouldn't intentionally hurt her.

I wish you every luck and hopefully the citronella spray might just be enough if not why don't you try a collar that just bleeps it's the initial interupting the setters concentration reminding him/her that owner is wanting them back and then they listen to your command.
