can you please explain what 'futurity' is? sounds great but i have no clue what it refers to, being a euro-setter-owner :-) thanks in advance.

Futurity is only offered at one show a year and that would be the National. It is like a sweepstakes class which is for the younger classes 6-9 months old. 9-12, 12-15, 15-18. The difference between sweepstakes and Futurity is that the Litter has to be nominated and pays a fee to national organization at birth. Then each animal is to pay a fee at three different times before the show. The fee is only $2.00 each time. but must be paid on time, but never in advance. The fee turns out to be your entry fee. So , many animals can't enter this class because they were not entered at birth or failed to keep up the fees. Mostly the entries are from some of the best litters in the country. Gator's mother won Futurity in ,i think it was 2003 and the winner got around $600.00us Don't think these classes are small. If i remember right i think one bitch class this year had 24 entries.There is only 1 Best in futurity a year and 1 Best of opposite sex. In the picture, the blue bitch on the left won Best in Futurity, the next ones my daughter with Gator, the next one is the Dam, Abby,. The next one is Stoli ,he was Best of opposite. The next on is already a movie star. She has appeared in ads for Midwest airlines for travel with you pet. I don't know of any win on the last one but as you know , at a dog show not everyone can win. I hope this helps you understand a little better.
