Bambi at street fair
Shortly after I picked up Bambi, I took her to our local street fair to meet our other dogs and my husband. An Asian performing group was banging on drums and parading a dragon figure around, which she was clearly concerned about.

Bambi had a tough short life before she came to us. She and her brother were abandoned at a dog pound with parvo and were about to be euthenized when our rescue club sprang them. She'd spent a couple weeks in the care of a club member who is a vet—you can see the shaved band on her arm for the IV fluids. Through all of that, she was indomitable, came into our home, loving and trusting us to help her to a better life. She's in a wonderful forever home now, but it was heartbreaking to let her go.
