Kumara in Slumberland - dreams of kookaburras
Kookaburras and dreams. My boys get so annoyed with Kookaburras they pop up on my sisters farm fence and bark in disgust. Must be the fact that a bird is being rude enough to laugh at them. Cockatoo by the hundred, so much louder and they don't bat an eyelid. 1 kookaburra and off they go.
I love kookaburras and cockatoos. Galahs too! I used to walk with my first Irish Setter, Kelly, to a local park in Strathmore where some old gum trees were located. There was one that was a home to a galah who used to peak his head out and squawk when Kelly came to the base and barked. It was quite a funny routine they both had.
Kumara came from Keith at Taraglen - so I think she was used to hearing the kookaburras. She is now nearly deaf.
That would be Napier Park. Lot of reveg has been done there now but still a great park for dogs. Galah's are a hoot, such funny antics. I could just imagine a Galah doing this.
My first Irish girl Skye came from Keith also Marc. Very close to where we live. Lots of bird life around here.
Kumara is beautiful. Looks a lovely gentle girl.
