Traveler holding the rapt attention of 3 long time Borzoi breeders as she floats around the ring in the Best of Breed competition. She was awarded Best of Winners.
Thanks Ereni, all 4 of my Borzoi move out like a Setter or sporting dog should which makes them stand out in the crowd. The 3 ladies in the background on this photo are all long time Borzoi breeders, the one on the left is also a breed judge. Their compliments on Traveler's movement were wonderful. Even her competitors in the Open Bitch class were commenting out loud during the class, "oh my God, look at that bitch move!" Those exhibitors who had never seen Traveler's movement were stunned speechless, this is not common movement for Borzoi, it is correct movement but rarely seen anywhere. A breeder from Japan who owns the #1 Borzoi in Japan wants to lease her for a litter, another breeder in Finland wants a pick puppy out of her first litter, sire of no consequence, male or female puppy, our choice to send! She's 4 1/2 years old now and a character in her own right. She's very much a people dog just like my Irish have always been and loves small dogs and cats almost as much as she loves people. We're hoping to be able to send her to the Westminster Kennel Club show in New York City next Feb. to compete for Best of Breed. Her half brother Hunter won the breed there 2 years in a row and won the Eukanuba Championship show in between the 2007 and 2008 WKC shows. He's also a multiple all breed and specialty best in show winner. We're hoping Traveler matches Hunter's show record.
