- We have had Irish Setters for a number of years now. Our present set of Irish Setters were purchased from Smyth Irish Setters - AKC Irish Setter Puppies, out of Wisconsin. They are both excellent dogs. Both are friendly and very mellow in temperament. They are good hunting dogs as well and are my faithful hunting companions.

Have a great time on this site!
I imported a number of Wendover Irish into Western Australia, and have been line breeding them for nearly 40 years, on top of the 40 odd years that J and Jimmy James had bred them.
They are very much a show type of Setter, but certainly still retain considerable working instincts.
