You found a setter??? incredible but ... I suppose you have already checked if (s)he has an electronic tag? May be easier if you could put a picture of this dog? be aware Robin, this wonderful setters are owning you before you know it!!! enjoy her/him :-)
Why don'y you put your message and pics as a blog. I think it will attract more attention and more people will have a look. I really hope that you find his owner soon.
Have you let your local law enforcement, and Humane Societies know you have found this Irish Setter? Also you should have her checked by a vet for an ID Chip as these are common here in the USA. Wish you lots of luck and hope you soon find her owner......I would make them describe her to you in detail ( don't volunteer about her white patch on her chest ) and find out her/his name to see if she responds to it so you can be sure of the real owner . Wondering now if you will get hooked on Irish Setters like so many of us have. Good Luck and please, let us know if you find her owner?
Hello Robin, Thanks for the pictures and indeed it is a very nice IS. May be I have too much fantasies but watch that you tell whatever legal authorities about finding this dog, people are so weird these days, you do not want to be accused of stealing this dog. Then, as Sherry said, be very carreful before giving back the dog. And lastly, beware, IS can steal your heart in no time... :-) Waiting to read how the situation is evolving, all the best Robin and a cuddle to your special guest
Robin from looking at these pictures I would say ...unless you really cleaned her up that she has not been running very long....and as her coat is in good condition....and she does not look like she missed too many groceries I would bet there is a family looking for her. I know I would be frantic if my Molly was lost so hope you soon find her family. Are you falling for Irish Setters?
Just stopped by to see if you found the owner for your lost Irish Setter....sorry I did not see the comments under his photos when I posted before, Hoping you find where he belongs soon.
Have you contacted either Save Our Setters or the Irish Setter Club of America? both foster Irish Setter's while waiting for new forever homes for them. I am so sorry that this guy has not found his family...and bless you for taking him in to try to help him.
