Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As young pups they are wonderful if naughty but when they mature.., second to none !

I am relatively new to the world of Irish Setters, I own two and my eldest Murphy (Fetteresk Snow Fire) is almost 3... Murph is a very special boy and from the day I picked him up from his breeder I was besotted.. But he is maturing into a wonderful, funny but very loving boy... Ok sometimes naughty.
Only this afternoon he climbed up on the chair and sat on my husband to watch the football, settled and just hinting he likes cuddles...
He has his bedtime usually 9pm a tad early maybe but Flynn jumps on his head at 530am so the boy knows to get his sleep ...
Most of all he is gentle and so much fun to be around and I believe him to be do smart knowing so many of our human words and reacting to them too...
Our younger one Flynn is a gem of a pup but is the wild child of the two.,
I think I am just amazed at this wonderful breed and how lucky we all are....

Oh he is ! Murph is such a great boy but I am hopeful the wild child will eventually behave a bit. ! But I do love him just as much ..,

We believe that setters grow up about 5 years old and we are eagerly awaiting 20th December when finally our Finn will be 5 yrs old.  We keep telling him he will be grown up at Christmas!  They never lose the cheeky streak and he spends alot of time trying to get our young retriever in trouble.  The other day he ripped up a plastic bag he had stolen from the worktop,  and took it onto the settee and dropped it on the head of our sleeping old ES, as if to say, it wasn't me, mum!  As you say, we would not be without them :))
