I'm really ashamed to present you the best bitches from the french championship. The CACIB went to the bitch from the left ( 4 years) !!!!!!
No comment or .....
I feel sorry for the bitch too...she is not trained as a show dog and the handler does not know how to get the best out of her....the problem is that as she is a field trial dog and she needed to win there too to get her full award.....
Poor little dog and as for the standard - among a long list where is the angulation, the feathering etc. etc. Surely the FCI should do something about this. The argument has gone on and on. It is hard to believe these are Irish Setters. Protestations have been made to athe Red Club, the French Kennel Club at to the FCI. All to no avail. I the other two exhibitors walked out of a show some years back because the Red Club had imposed there preferred standard only the day before and told the judge that he must abide by it. This without the agreement of the French kennel club. I've lost both my beautiful dogs in the last few years but hope to have another puppy this summer. It will look like a setter - not a red whippet - but it means that I shall almost certainly be wasting my time showing in France. When these dogs qualify there owners should take them to Crufts or to a country that does apply the FCI standard. Perhaps when they see real Setters they might realise that the dogs they are producing are not an example of the breed.
