While driving back from Corsica to the UK, I did a stop in Les Houches after the Mont Blanc Tunnel, just to shake my legs. The one on the background is the Aguille Verte (Mont Blanc) !

Note that I am wearing a sock since I was camping in Corsica and a nasty grass seed went in my fingers.. The vet had to do an incision : (

I was meanly in the beach in Corsica, but sometimes it was soo hot that the sand burned under my feet... I was soooo poor !!! I had to go up in the mountain and find some pools to refresh : )

Not sure why Silvia is spending so much time helping a local artist to make stone sculpures... Just had a swim meanwhile ! Is sooo hot here in Corsica and we are camping and hiking a lot !

Lovely Holidays! Thanks for sharing the nice photos! It's so hot here at the moment, that I would love to jump into that pool and have a swim with Oberon :-).

Hi Silvia, this is a belated comment but I hope Oberon's foot problem has healed now. Susan and Misty xxxx

Hi Susan !! thanks and i hope all is going well with Misty and the life there! Oberon is doing well: he passed two incisions this summer to search for the seed grass, that left us with 1.5K pounds poorer but cleaned the infection despite the culprit fragment was not seen to come out...

after this, Oberon still developed a lump of infection in the wrist. This would have implied a major operation in an area full of vessels and tendons and skin scratch (so a very difficult wound to heal, with the dog crated for a 2-3  weeks etc).. Our vet was amazing, they decide to wait and look  at Oberon every couple of days for a few weeks to see if the infection may settle or anything was traveling outside, as a foreign body.. In the end all settled down and there is now a very little scar tissue in the area. We believe that, if (but it may be not) a little fragment is there, it may be stucked there forever and the body just creates a scar around. as long as nothing is traveling out there is no reason to do a major cut and risk in this delicate area.

bottom line: yes, Obi is doing fine and very happy and he dont believe there will be major risks in the future :))

hope the story wll be useful for others: our vet was really amazing in  following us day by day and making sure that -if there is a fragment- it is just deposited there without  any further risk :)))

all the best and thanks for asking!!! we are now looking at a new adventure - Christmas I wish to take him in the scottish highlands for a few days, for the first time!

how is life there? XXXXX

Oh what an episode, you still experienced! I really hope all is well now! You seem to have good and carful vets! Thank you for posting this and wishing you a very nice time in Scotland! This too is still on our list of things to do - but not in winter :-)). C & J xxx
