Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Alanna passed away in Huntly on Monday 2nd of January, she had been suffering with aggressive mast cell tumours under the skin around her shoulders and the back of the neck for the past year and had endured three major operations. I devoted this entire time to her care and am simply heartbroken over her loss, just ten and a half years old. She loved to run above all else and was always pushing to be taken out to the woods or up on the hills every day. Headstrong, a great communicator who commanded the day and loved to snuggle up in the night, I will miss her forever. Thanks to Strathbogie vets for giving us an extra 10 precious months together. This picture was taken at Gartly Moor on Boxing Day, great sadness in her eyes.
Hi Stephen,
I'm very sorry to read about your loss! I know how it feels and the pain does come back in bouts! We too were given another 11 months with Joy and I cared day and night for her, being diagnosed with a severe heart condition. You have done all you can and Alanna had the best life with you! She looks so happy on the other photos, you posted. Her suffering has ended now and I do hope, yours will too one day and you can cherish the happy memories...
My heartfelt condolences! Cornelia
Stephen,
I am very sorry at reading your post, and belatedly offer my sincerest and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your girl Alanna. I too, know this pain. I hope that the warmth of the good times and memories of having her will soothe the heartbreak of losing her. James.
