Hi Sammi - love all your new photos of the girls, especially Lola cuddling up to your cat!! Are you staying in Galloway while you're up here, or coming any further north?
Hi Sammi, thought of a Canon:-) a really top type that guarantees extraordinary pics! Christmas is getting nearer and I hope Santa Claus has already read my mind! Do you still have any horses? What exactely did you do at the horse shovvs? Kerstin
Hi Sammi, I am not only a passionate Setter fan but also infatuated with horses- a combination that fits because our Setters are patient spectators while riding dressage and fast horse companions in the fields/woods. I have got 3 horses - my daughter's Fjord mix (photo) and two crossbreed (my own breed, jumping line). Summer (10 months) fell in love with the pony. She likes competing with him for the fastest gallop. Best wishes Kerstin
Yes, Sammi. Since Tuesday we have snow. Jamie have missed them the last 5 month :-)))
Doggies are always clean in the snow, but wet when them are in the house and the snow will smelt
Thanks for comment and regards Esther
Hi Sammi,
I'm glad you liked my girls. Your own pictures are lovely. I take it the Scottish holiday was in Galloway? I love your picture of Lola cuddling up to Mojo. We had an old black cat when we got Bridget. They bonded immediately and used each other as a pillow. It was very special. We live in Angus, near Forfar which (not speaking as a geographer :)) is about half way up Scotland on the right hand side. We're lucky enough to have lots of nice woods and fields for off lead exercise. Today it is glorious and the girls have been making the most of it. Setters on an autumn day look particularly splendid, even with the odd twig in their bloomers. Best wishes to you and your lovely animals.
Hi Sammi,
Great to hear from you ! In England, it's nice you can see Irish setter, and besides meet people with the same passion for their dog. So to think to have a friendly walk with six Irish setters, I can just dream of it ? In France, it's rare to see Irish setter as you know, and the breeders are producing dogs with no type.
In England and Ireland of course, Irish setter are as they should ressemble. I can tell you that, especially when I see a superb photo in the Galloway forest.
I would like to come once to Crufts, have you been there already ? It should be impressive to see all these beautiful dogs at the same time. Unfortunately, this year, they didn't broadcast anything from the show, because of some bad bad people who in breed too much and produce sick dogs. It's what I heard in the news. I don't know if next year, the tv will be again at the show ?
You asked me if I was thinking to have an other Irish setter ? Why not, I would love it, the temptation is really big, but maybe it's better to do it when Lucky will be older. I should wait like you did between Abbi and Lola, don't you think ?
Plus, I think I was so lucky to have a dog from Mel when she accepted to sell me one of her puppies. Plus one puppy from Liberty X, she's such a beautiful girl. I should thank Mel forever. "Lucky" is already so beautiful for me, and has such an easy character. He is adorable, obedient, tender ... how should I be more lucky myself with an other Irish setter ? so I cannot have my eyes for an other one right now. Maybe a girl ? or a boy ? I don't know what would be the best. It's true it could be nice also for Lucky ?
I will see in the future.
Thank you for your welcome to the site - apologies for not replying sooner but we have just returned from hols. Your photos of your holiday are great- glad to hear you had such a good time in this area. Dalbeattie forest is one of the walks on our list & often pop in there if I am in the area. Did your girls enjoy the loch??!!!
Hope to put some photos of Hattie on soon - not a computer whiz but will try!!!!
Best wishes
Lesley& Hattie.
