A warning about crates

For all of you who use crates or cages

Over the years I have used crates or cages as many of you do and recommend them to people who purchase my puppies.  I have however had some nasty experiences with them too and now I always wrap a towel or small blanket over the lip the dog or puppy has to walk over to go in and out as I have twice over the years had young dogs pull nails out by catching their foot in the metal, one bitch pulled two nails completely out and another pulled out one, bleeds like mad and needs antibiotics to make sure it doesn't get infected so that the nails grow back normally.
