Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

finnish results from tested dogs are found here  http://www.kkk-hhs.fi/Irkut/IndexIrkut.htm under terveys-health-link

Thanks for the link, Katariina. I was very surprised to see an Irish Red & White Setter listed as clear of PRA rcd4. I thought the test was only available for Irish & Gordon Setters. Maybe this has changed recently?

We and the owner were just as suprised :) The owner was not aware of the fact that this test might not be for the Irish red and white and I told her that propably you will not get an answer. But she did, so it goes for the irws too? The breed was very clearly mentionded in the papers so it can not be a mistake?

Hmmm... I'm not sure the test result would make any sense if the test was not devised for the breed? The people at the lab may not know their IS a difference between IRWS & IRS? Mistakes do happen... I would query the test result by email to the AHT.
