Hammer and Jerry
I gave the giraffe, Jerry to Hammer for his birthday. Jerry was one of two of Hammer's favourite toys. Jerry and his other favourite toy stayed in the hospital with Hammer. I buried his other toy with him. Hammer used to bring Jerry to bed at night. Hammer was always the first of my Setter kids to come to bed with me. His favourite place was lying down the end of the bed with his head on my legs or my knees. To help me cope with losing Hammer, I clutch Jerry tightly every night now when I go to sleep. Hobson is glued beside me and Rose lies on a dog bed where I can reach down and touch her. We all comfort each other.

Hammer was only 7 years old on this birthday. He did not look any older when he was 10 years old. He never aged in any way. He was always fun loving and youthful. We really miss him.
