Okay, her ears aren't that long and she's not covered with hair (although I think I see some red hairs there!), but I hope you'll forgive me for posting this pic of my new niece! I'm not sure yet if she meets the standard, but I still think she's kinda cute :-)

(That mark on her face is from the forceps...yes...ouch...although there is still some debate as to who was in more pain, mum or bub...)

Lovely baby, totally forgiven that she doesn't have long ears or isnt covered with red hair... ;-)) Does she have more hairy "brothers" or "sisters"? What do they think about the newcomer?

My first thought: Melinda has been keeping very quiet about this...:-))
But I see this is your niece - very very beautiful despite the short ears! You know new born setter pups have very short ears to start with... then they grow and grow and at a certain stage are almost the size of Dumbo's ears (remember Walt Disney's Dumbo the Flying Elephant?)
Wishing baby, proud parents and proud aunt much joy with the new member of the family!

LOL Susan, well despite being fat enough to LOOK pregnant, it's not something I plan for myself any time soon! At least this way I can give the baby back to mum when she starts crying or doing something I don't understand. I visited them tonight and I'm pretty sure that hair is going to be red, so who knows?? ;-)

Johanna, yes, she has an older "sister" in the form of a blue-roan Cocker Spaniel called Zemirah. Knowing Zemi, she won't be too thrilled about sharing the limelight with this new puppy!

Hey who cares if she isn't quite to SETTER standards, but we will forgive you for being so proud. She is so cute. As for the ears......so long as they are in keeping with ''the breed'' then they will be OK. As for the ''sister,'' she will have to learn to move fast all too soon, my granddaughter is learning to walk with Jas as a 'self moving walking frame' Dee and the girls
