Field Trial SCAV 25.08.07 Corcelles/CH

No luck this time for my dog Glen, the only Irish Setter entered at this summer trial held mainly in sugar beet. The pheasants refused to play the game and went away and hid;-))

Of 12 dogs entered in 'Solo' only one Pointer was placed. Disappointing for us, but hopefully better luck next time!

Sorry about the letters in the title - CH - it means Switzerland, not China. CH stands for Confoederatio Helveticus latin for 'swiss confederation';-))

Hello Susan,

It’s very pity for Glen.
I know this situation. It was the same last week. In the morning, Fletcher pointed a pheasant twice, but it refuses to fly. Fortunately, the judge gave a second chance to Fletcher in the afternoon and MIRACLE, the pheasant flown and Fletcher got his point.
Later, one other chance for you and Glen ! Of course, it’s not so easier than on show, but only Field Trial trainers know that !
See you soon

Jean

Pheasant and sugarbeet fields!! Never had any luck in those, hard terrain for the dog and easy for the pheasant...

better luck next time!
