Actually today the 17th of January the polar night ends here in Finnish Lapland. But these pictures are from sunday the 13th of January. The weather was brilliant, just a few minus degrees(-3) light wind and a hint of snowflakes came down. We found grouses well, every dog expcept our youngest was working beautifully. Stood on point perfectly, flushed the birds with perfection and we did shoot some birdies down ;)
Our youngest, the english setter, was making progress though and he showed signs of becoming a real hunter.

Could not have started this hunting year better!
First picture of our old lady, Wanda soon to be 9 years

then it was Evitas turn

Here is Woitto

Great that you too have some sunshine again (like us here down south... NOT). Next time you'll be able to hunt in the daylight...! :D

I mostly fall asleep while viewing blogs in this site, you keep me awake!!!

Hey after my last hunt here there was agathering in a barn and written on walls was the saying nowhere more lies are told than after hunting and before elections. Hows that in your country???

After fishing and before elections. Those fishermen are the best in telling stories.

A hunter with a setter does not need to lie... ;) you know that, dont you?

Right, truth is fascinating enough. Like this one: one of my reds became harefree for life after he was more or less beaten up by hares:-))))) Anyway, thanks again, your pics are the reason to return here now and than.....Henk.
