Actually today the 17th of January the polar night ends here in Finnish Lapland. But these pictures are from sunday the 13th of January. The weather was brilliant, just a few minus degrees(-3) light wind and a hint of snowflakes came down. We found grouses well, every dog expcept our youngest was working beautifully. Stood on point perfectly, flushed the birds with perfection and we did shoot some birdies down ;)
Our youngest, the english setter, was making progress though and he showed signs of becoming a real hunter.

Could not have started this hunting year better!
First picture of our old lady, Wanda soon to be 9 years

then it was Evitas turn

Great pics, Kata !
Been on the big hunting & dogs fair in Dortmund/Germany today and ran into...Klaus Ekman from Finland (Fowlers). Looks like I meet him every few years in different countries. We decided to drink a good red wine on behalf of old friend Ahti from Oulu (yep, famous grouse).
And hey, we hope to get a puppy from finland this spring ! Unfortunately not one from Klaus litter (which he only told me today), so I am afraid our relation might be a bit unharmonic now.;-)))
Good hunt and regards from sunny Germany, been out in a T-Shirt today...partridges are in couples already...
